So when you're 70 and dribbling into your soup you can say with pride "I was a member of that Union then, and I stayed out". The strike breakers (thanks express) will probably still be trying to forget they had nothing to do with whatever victory we have or will earn.

I am proud not only to associate myself with this site but with each and every single postie on here and those that are not, who stood strong in the face of adversity. Stand proud you earned it.

Well said Teebs. And your kids will be able to walk down the street with their heads up and know that their father or mother did not scab.
The Industrial Workers of the World. The union whose members never scab!

The sad fact is wether good or bad the strike breakers will benefit from our endurance...SO never forget.

ONCE A SCAB ALWAYS A SCAB !!! And lets not forget the way the RM management have treated us over the last 5 months.

But we are all better than them and lets never ever forget that !!

Agree with that. I can't understand why the PEC couldn't have met last night or today and let us know what is in it.
We will still have the final say on whether it is acceptable, and if not we should throw it out like we did the Employee Agenda in 1996. And we should keep up the working properly. :lfo :cfo

SCAB SHAME

Post by mailjock »

I was involved in a major strike some 15 years ago and after a long time on the cobbles we lost - had to reapply for our jobs and very few got back - not that anyone really wanted to go back as the company had taken on dilutee strikebreakers to work with the handful of qualified strike breakers who stayed in.

You know that the friendships that were formed at that time amongst those who stood endure strongly to this day and I can't describe the feeling of pride that we all still have that we were not found wanting when courage and principles were needed. Only when people are truly tested do you see what they are made of and there are always surprises when you see the strong buckle and the previously supposed weak worker turn into a lion.

And as for the strike breakers and strikebreakers - well the industry I was in is still organised and when these creatures have moved company to try and get a better job they are met with a wall of silence and people just get up and leave canteen tables when they sit down. They are never invited to nights out, parties or anything.

That is the price they pay and will continue to pay for being a coward and a scab until not just the day they retire but the day they die and they burden their families with their guilt - who want's a man or a daddy who was a strikebreaker?
