Henstridge postman Stan retires after 27 years

Popular postman Stan Pullen retired last week after 27 years service and staff at the Wincanton sorting office gathered to wish him a happy retirement.

Stan, who lives with his wife Angela at Henstridge, began his career at the sorting office in Templecombe before the office moved to Wincanton.

Stan is a keen Manchester United fan who enjoys a pint in his local The Bird in Hand, a spot of DIY and the odd bet on the horses.

“He’s a good man, always happy and we’ll miss him,” said fellow postie Derrick Pannell.
