Taking pension benefits early...good or bad idea ?

hi.....just trying to get some advice and thoughts......i've been a postman for 35 years plus. just turned 55yrs old and thinking of taking my pension benefits early. my question is ....those of you who took that opportunity...do you regret it and why....or do you think it would be better to just wait until i'm 60yrs old. Really would appreciate some direction on this. Thanks Guys.
