Recruitment underway for thousands of Royal Mail workers

Staffing organisations are currently in the process of sourcing thousands of seasonal workers for Royal Mail.

A range of labour suppliers are working to provide Royal Mail with the 19,000 workers it wants to hire over the Christmas period.

According to the company’s website, Royal Mail has contracts with Manpower, Pertemps and de Poel, as well as Angard, which is part of Royal Mail, and whose activities are outsourced to Reed Specialist Recruitment.

Angard is managing the supply of all industrial workers. Manpower and Pertemps supply drivers except in instances where Angard cannot supply. And de Poel provides all Parcelforce Worldwide positions, regardless of job role.

The Royal Mail says that 4,000 of the 19,000 seasonal workers will be based at 10 temporary parcel sorting offices. The centres are in Bathgate in West Lothian, Leeds, Middleton in Greater Manchester, Wolverhampton, Llantrisant in South Wales, Swindon, Greenford, Peterborough, Milton Keynes and Heathrow. The centres will open on a phased basis from 3 November.

Royal mail could not even get a confirmation e.mail sent to me for my son to work , 3 times I rang xmas line up , 3 times promised , I gave up , and could not go to the interview .

We have 15 vacancies including 5 sat Ags and still cannot get folks on , its laughable
