‘We won’t be bullied’ warning
A WINTER of discontent could cripple Islington after union leaders revealed plans to hold a summit which could result in industrial action by teachers, Royal Mail staff and Town Hall workers, writes Roisin Gadelrab.
The November 1 meeting will see Islington’s union representatives thrash out plans to coordinate industrial action over unsatisfactory pay deals and working hours.
Islington North Labour MP Jeremy Corbyn and Mark Dolan, from the Communication Workers Union, have been invited to speak at the meeting for public sector union members.
Islington National Union of Teachers assistant secretary Ken Muller said: “Public sector workers do not want to see schools, job centres, the postal service and housing offices disrupted. We choose to do these jobs because we want to provide a service to the public. But we will not be bullied or blackmailed into working more for less pay or see our services handed to fat-cat businessmen without a fight.â€

I think activists all over are finding a voice again. If we have done nothing else we have given these groups the courage to stand up again and show goverment and business that we will only take their bullying and scare tactics for so long. I think this winter might we a very long one for Mr Brown-Thatcher as he now likes to be known!!!!!!!!! :
