Regular incorrect redeliveries - would you complain?

Hi again guys,

Just wanted to run something by you, before I make a complaint about this.

I regularly arrange to have my parcels (the ones that I've been 'carded' for) redelivered to my local Post Office, so I can pick them up on a day when I'm able to do so, instead of going down to the delivery office to collect them myself (which is difficult for me). I fill the 'book a redelivery' form in on the web and I definitely indicate that I want the parcel sent to the Post Office.

However, it seems to be a regular thing that the guy with the parcel van just ignores my delivery instructions and attempt to redeliver it to my house again and then leaves another card if I'm not in. That has happened about 5 or 6 times in the last year now and to be honest, it's pissing me off now. It happened again today (I re-checked the confirmation email and it was definitely supposed to be sent to the PO, not my house) and I'm seriously considering making a formal complaint about it.

I'm not a serial complainer and I know that you guys have a hard job sometimes. Do you think that I'm being unreasonable?

No, especially when you have to pay for it to be delivered to a local post office so you can pick it up. 50p charge if i'm correct.

The local collect items should have a different kind of sticker, with a barcode put on them to indicate its a Local Collect as opposed to a redelivery. If your previous items haven't got these stickers then its likely the delivery person is not at fault, but someone back at the local office may not be following the correct procedure. So yes I would complain.

I have no problem with that. I have to pay £3+ to go down to the delivery office on the bus. I ask for it to be delivered to my local post office because I'm very likely not going to be in for a redelivery to my house, as was the case this morning.

It cost £1.50 until quite recently.

I don't really recall what stickers the previous packages had on them. I'll be sure to take notice of when I receive this one.

So, anyhoo - I went down and spoke to the manager today and told him about the probs I've been having.

My parcel had the wrong type of sticker on it, so it wasn't my local postie's fault, or the parcel van guy either. He said that he's going to have words and try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Dav FYI many of our offices now open on a sunday - would this make things easier if you could collect them all on one day?

TBH, it's a lot easier for me to pay 50p and get them delivered to my local Post Office. It's really close to my house and I can just pick them up whenever.
