We’ve employed more than 2,000 candidates from the disability employment organisation
We’ve reached a significant milestone in our support of disability employment organisation Remploy, employing 2,000 candidates through the initiative.
We are the first logistics company in the UK to reach this number, and only the third national organisation to achieve it overall.
Part of the team
The latest employees to join the company from the Remploy initiative are Anthony Allen and Stephen Curran, who are both based at the Yorkshire distribution centre in Wakefield.
Yvette Cooper MP for Normanton, Pontefract, Castleford and Knottingley, met with Stephen and Anthony, and heard about their role and Royal Mail’s partnership with Remploy.
Anthony and Stephen both help process parcels received from the Yorkshire area and prepare them for delivery to addresses across the UK.
Anthony says: ‘I enjoy working as part of the team here. Everyone has worked hard to help me gain more skills and confidence.’
Stephen added: ‘It's been good to learn about sorting the parcels and moving Yorks. You have to work to understand what to do and people always help when you need it.’
