I direct my customers to use this number 0845 6050767 when their delivery has not shown up--or rather they have not been in to take delivery!
Our parcels are perishable and carry a label that say they should not be left on the doorstep so are often taken back to the sorting office
We have just been left a negative review saying they were given a premium number to ring
I thought 0845 was either a 'local' number or a freephone number
Am I wrong?
Is there a 0345...number or other number I should be directing them to?

0845 is not free phone 0800 is free phone (though some mobile providers charge to call it)
0845 is a "low call" rate number so it's not as dear as a 0898 number to call but charges vary depending on operator it's usually about 10p per minute to call 0845

As it happens the review for the product was a good one--but the service was 'let down' because of the so called 'premium number'
I'm not sure how she thought I could let her know the details of where she could pick up her chocolates otherwise
I thought it was good customer service to add these details and make it easier for her but some customers are never going to be satisfied!

just tell them to phone the number on their red card from royal mail instead

just tell them to phone the number on their red card from royal mail instead

The trouble is these are customers who don't get the 'red card' otherwise I think they would just go and pick up their parcel and not come back to us about it
