At least at ASDA we don't get all this crap rammed down our necks everyday do we. Come on lads lets revolt no extra miles without a bonus anymore for one and all not for the few!

whats the point, if an item is always delivered no matter what (to neighbours etc), the recipient will never actually sees the person/company delivering it if they are not in, it could be RM or one of the others, people seems to get so many items they don't know who is actually delivering them so it really makes no difference

It does if targets are to be achieved and only one person could know that!

easiest way I can see of getting enough time to deliver walks etc is the following

4 posties working together, the 4 walks are split into 3 and they take small packets ( letter box pushable size ) and mail only, all large packets, specials and tracked go with the 4th postie who deliver's for all four walks.

of course, I am now playing Fantasy RM and it will never happen, but it could work if someone was to give it a chance.

So,what bi gal is saying is that we should put our own time in free of charge just so that the D0M. Can get his bonus and that we will be given the luxury of future employment. Nothing about Royal Mail having a delivery strategy that works and treating their employees with respect!!

Ain't I lucky to have a job :nana

It is incredible how RM can be around for centuries and yet does not have an accurate record of each delivery point's letterbox size, an accurate record of the path distance of all delivery points from the pavement etc. etc.

That's about the size of it he said come on lads meaning were not doing our job's! Or we are to contentious as not too throw it over the wall after scanning it and then it went missing and you would be lucky if you got a job at ASDA after doing that as they would say you stole it!

Royal Mail only worry about themselves they don't care about business and customers in a few years time it will be a 8 to 4pm job not leaving the office till 11am where the business's are waiting for mail, its ridiculous now that I deliver to a school near the end of the walk at 2 30pm the secretary sitting there all day waiting for mail..This first time delivery is a tool they are using to win contracts back and get big bonus, Pegasus never mapped these walks out to knock on neighbors...

If 99% of parcels were delivered each day , then what about the 8 or so people on the counter and in rle - they'd have nowt to do! And most of them are too crippled to go out on delivery or can't drive so it's curtains for them.
Just do what we've been doing for donkeys years, the customer will then build up a friendship with the local d.o and p.o and we'll all be happy.
As for the managers - b@ll@cks to their bonuses :Very Happy
The time wasted with them pda's means we don't have extra time to try neighbours. :cuppa - more time to look after our customers and earn xmas tips. :nana

As most have said on here give us the time and we will knock on neighbours to deliver tracked items, but when your revision was done a year before the law was changed to allow us to leave with neighbours and the walks haven't been changed I don't see where the time is coming from.
Someone has been paid a fortune to come up with the slogan "first time every time" but my alternative "no time where the time" doesn't seem to go down well with management :Very Happy

The other 3 posties would have to absorb a 1/3 of a delivery onto their walks, which mean too much walking. Plus on light days the 4th postie would be doing very little.

If someone has a different position to you please respect their right to have differing views, and enjoy yourself when picking holes in their position in a constructive way. We would much rather have a long winded well thought out argument, picking out weak points in someone's position, than have a thread full of 1 line insults.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
