It will be done at the same time or 30 mins before your one wave of sequencing coming into your office.

SO will Everyone be on 30hrs contract. (Except those on less currently)

So they reduce the number of IPS frames and then 3 years later they want everyone on 30 hour contracts to sort IPS for 1/2 hour - If I have this right we will have 25 people sorting IPS on 6 frames

At our office we have ips in 2 groups,both doing 30-40 mins each

What the wave 2 does in most offices is create an artificial barrier to the "efficiency" savings possible and the performance expected from the staff. There is after all no point in getting all of the work done and then having staff sitting around unable to tie down because they are waiting for wave 2.

That makes wave 2 very important at resource meetings. what Royal Mail eventually want is all of the work in front of staff before they start work, that is by definition the most efficient way of working, Efficient in case anyone isn't clear is the way to get the most amount of work done by the least amount of staff.

Currently full timers are employed on a 39 hour contract and most work a 5 day week. If you start in the future at say 9 o clock because you have one pass and none of that work is in your office and you have no manual work till because the professional drivers no long have a night shift because there is now just one wave of sequencing work.

There is a last letter agreed with of com of 3pm for towns and cities and 4 for rural areas.

So on 5 day weeks that means you have 6 hour duty which over 5 days 30 hours. It would be difficult to have less than 5 day attendances under those circumstances and I have not even mentioned short days like monday and tuesday.

That is the issue with one pass it is a total game changer.

Dingo is suggesting that town deliveries should be finishing at 3pm regardless of start time.

The trouble is, in my planet reality, delivering past 3pm on most town HCT duties happens on all but the quietest of days when done "properly"... Even with some OPGs coming in early to do IPS overtime and thereby reduce general indoor work. Some poor sods have no guarantee of delivering the whole walk by 3pm most days by simply prepping their frame and going without any general indoor work.

Simply because thousands of night jobs cost Royal Mail a lot of money.

Even if all the work is in front of you when you start,be it 7 or 8 or whatever,You still only have 7 hours 48mins x 5 = 39 hours to do all the ips then to prep & deliver your walk & meal relief!
