Thanks.
Like I said the issue here is different but some colleagues get a rougher deal from management than some others for various reasons. We should be mindful of that fact when we simply advice someone to work their paid hours or take up a grievance.
Sometimes, the unfair treatment might be generated by other work colleagues taking the mick or in league with management that turns a blind eye to their wrongs. For example, someone gets paid OT cover 1/2 a round on a walkholders day off, that person leaves packets behind, leave mail behind, kill offs not done and so on... The next day, the walkholder will have to do his normal tasks as well as those of someone who has already being paid well for the OT.
Of course, he might still complete but that is not exactly fair - we all love to be able to make time not just a few people that are on easier walks, work-shy, manager's mate, untouchables and so on.
This poster was picked on because the manager thought he was easy; the manager not only lied, he did not make the others do what he now expect from charlie - the poster.
I know at least 2 posties that have got into serious trouble by wanting things to be fair, and they were very good workers but they felt *hat on and will not stop moaning about it until one said the wrong thing and the other simply walked out

Re: grievance
Probably sat in their leather chairs worrying about the result of the Scottish Independence Reforendum, rather than concentrating on what they are paid to do.

Re: grievance
It is really odd that a few years ago the sort of behaviour portrayed so often on this forum by managers would have swiftly had the union defending the victims. Their first port of call would be the rep who would then get the area/div rep involved and now it seems that members don't even bother trying to get the union to deal with their problem. What a sad state of affairs this is.Lincox wrote:Probably sat in their leather chairs worrying about the result of the Scottish Independence Reforendum, rather than concentrating on what they are paid to do.
