Re: If Scotland votes aye
On the BBC (when it's doing it's impartiality thing) interviews Scottish teenagers and young people intending to vote Yes, and the big beaming optimistic smiles and sound-bites about "our future" and "our Scotland" are on display, you've got to wonder who's sold them this fantasy of some wealthy self-governing republic where everyone is happy and the sun always shines, poverty is history and diseases on the wane.
Just vote Yes and it'll all come true, but then they're only kids and essentially naive. Wonder how they'll view it all in ten years, should a Yes vote be the outcome?
I expect Ali Slugmond will be in exile in Canada or somesuch by then, and he'll escape the same well-deserved fate as Mussolini. Sadly.

So you'll be counting that as a yes vote then.............. but as she's supported by the tax payer, and has a dysfunctional family should we realistically expect her to back the No campaignnewtimes wrote: the Queen is stating very clearly she wants no part in this referendum, she will not come out to save the UK.
I am no longer a number :-)

The average British temperature is set to increase when Scotland is independent
But we'll miss all those medals at the winter olympics, in curling

The average British temperature would stay exactly the same. British or Great Britian is a geographical term which refers to the countries of England, Wales and Scotland not a political term referring to the political and economic union of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland so even after Independence Scots will continue to be British and so will our weather.freelunch wrote:The average British temperature is set to increase when Scotland is independent

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

The United Kingdom's average temperature is set to increase rather?
The new UK being England, Wales, NI.

Re: If Scotland votes aye
Probably for sentimental reasons the title United Kingdom would still stand for the union of England, Wales and Northern Ireland but to be pedantic the term United Kingdom originally relates to the union of the two kingdoms and crowns (Scotland and England), Wales at the time being a principality (only since 2012 a country) and Northern Ireland simply a province.Rory wrote:The United Kingdom's average temperature is set to increase rather?

Actually the term "Great Britain" is a political name for the union as-is, "British Isles" is the geographical term and includes the land mass of Ireland too.British or Great Britian is a geographical term

Why vote Yes in Scotland could this be true, can not be its not on the BBC, must be lies.
"Willie Marshall Just heard from a good in source in Royal Mail if we vote YES then TNT could withdraw from moving in to the delivery in Scotland because of the threat of bringing back into public ownership"

Re: If Scotland votes aye
I can not read the context of the article, used up my credits, read the comments. Westminster may control the bias establishment media, not the streets.
One of the comments:
"You are correct there is a difference between debating and heckling, there's also a great difference between genuine yes campaigners and paid no campaigners facing off. If you honestly believe it's anything other than a farce being greeted with the derision it deserves then you are mildly delusional.
I witnessed first hand the Yes takeover of a Glasgow, it was joyous, engaging and positive, the only negatives being from BT campaigners assaulting Yes campaigners. Both reported as scuffles by the BBC, one resulting in a charge against the BT campaigner. The people on the Yes side clearly care deeply about protecting the less educated amongst us from the bile and lies that spews from the Westminster brigade. I for one support any attempt to silence Miliband and his New Labour cronies. You should too!"
