It's simple, you're talking shite.
So you deliver Saturday retention on a Saturday, mail requiring customs duty with out it being paid, business mail on the day it comes in

so again you have no proof of this? nothing to back up your statement? your statement completely contradicts a national agreement that RM has with CWU
Also what about the xmas and new year hold over mail sent to DOs? the stuff that is labelled up not for delivery before 26 December or not before 3rd January etc that would be more mail arriving in DO that doesnt need to be delivered the day it arrives

Wrong! Mailsort arrives at inward MCs the day before it's due for delivery so when it arrives in the DO for delivery, it's due for delivery that day. Why give RM an excuse to lower head counts?
so last time we discussed this, i showed you the national agreement which allows for the mailsort to be held in delivery office to provide an earlier finish on a saturday, you keep saying i am wrong but can you provide any proof at all of this? again i have shown you the national agreement which hasnt been superseded
There is no such thing as an early finish anymore job and knock was done away with (either P&M or BTA). It's probably going to be a moot point as with the Sunday delivery starting I wouldn't be surprised if RM start to emply people in DOs on weekend only duties

Well I understood it was a clear frame policy every day.

Where can i find that agreement? Our DOM always insist we clear everything on a Saturday.

No but in deliveries there are longs and shorts, and if Saturday is significantly shorter then MS3 can be left as per an Agreement with the CWU and Royal Mai.
Its unlikely that any DOM in such a unit will conduct anyone for a delay of mail, as they know if their unit is exempt or not. Our DOM actually asks us to take MS3 where we are going on a Saturday - and most do.

Appendix 1 Para 1e. e) Saturday attendances will be significantly shorter than weekday attendances. To assist this Mailsort 3 need not be scheduled for delivery and missort runs should be rescheduled to enable an earlier start on town residential delivery routes.

It's a scheduled earlier finish for those offices that choose to use the agreement and made sure it was implemented, not job and finish, again still waiting for you to back up your claims with something official and not just hearsay from you

Clear frame policy is still in force, clear frame means just that mail sort 3 does not get processed till Monday morning so it' doesn't even touched a frame on Saturday, all frames are cleared on Saturday less any official retentions

Why do you think companies have moved over to using DSA? Best solution long term, RM employ people on weekend (Saturday & Sunday) contracts, then you won't be needed at weekends. It's going to happen at some point with the introduction of Sunday deliveries. @zx135 have TNT started doing deliveries in your area yet?

Nope and still waiting for you to show me where it says hat all mail must be delivered the day at received in a DO, regardless of what may probably happen in future at the moment you are wrong mail can be left on a Saturday in certain circumstances as detailed above
The holding back of mailsort on saturday was an enabler in both the SDD and P&M2007 agreements to provide a shorter saturday attendance, this was superceded by the business transformation agreement which moved to the position that saturday would now be considered a "normal working day".
If there are still offices holding mailsort on a regular basis it is unlikely to be with the full knowledge and consent of senior management. How would the IWT, resourcing to demand, lapsing and absorption work if you've two or three cages of mailsort lying in the corner of your office every monday morning? To be honest it's ludicrous that these practices still go on in some offices.
Just deliver the mail ffs.

I hear what you are saying but the Business Transformation Agreement does not say at any point that mail should no longer be held back from Saturdays, If senior management dont want these "practices" going on then they should not have agreed to them in the first place, They did agree and if now want them stopped the ball is in their court to take this to the union and ask to get it stopped, they have not done this, the most recent agreements have not stopped the practice in fact have not even addressed them, yes saturday is now classed as a normal working day, fair enough, long and shorts means that a planned 6 hour day on a tuesday is perfectly allowed and as such a planned 6 hour day on a saturday is also perfectly allowed, Longs and Shorts are still allowed unless i am mistaken
