None of the parties UKIP included give a flying f**k about your immigration fixation other than playing to your own misguided anxieties for some cheap votes so what difference does it make who did what to who and when. Money/economic policy drives immigration/migration policy, f**k all else.
Clear as mud. So labour didn't have an open door policy when in power. Labour didnt tell lies to everyone. I still remember one of the left wing brigade telling people there will only be 14000 coming over. Half a million people later. Check out what your mate Mandelson admitted. We were shipping them in by the busload. Short memory me thinks.

Typical left wing nonsense. So what you are implying is everything is ok, immigration IS NOT affecting our housing, schools, nhs ,WAGE STRUCTURE something you as a union stalwart should be looking at re the minimum wage, Wake up people. we are on flood alert. and I don't mean water
I'm starting to think Clash has your age about right.
Re-read my comment, slowly this time and with your finger under each word...Money/economic policy drives immigration/migration policy, f**k all else.. That does not imply that everything is ok, immigration IS NOT affecting our housing, schools, nhs ,WAGE STRUCTURE.

What it states in simple 9 year old's terms is that you can throw your tantrum, sulk and vote UKIP all you like but immigration policy will not change because from an economic point of view it's good for the country/business and money/business rules...especially with Farage and his mates/Cameron and his mates/Miliband and well....if he had any mates...
If you think immigration is not affecting housing, schools and wages you are clearly deluded. where do the immigrants live when they come over here? So the immigrants kids go to school and don't need a translator? So the genuine builders being undercut by the foreign workers is not affecting the wages. So having mobs of Romanian gypsys sleeping rough on the streets of our capital is good for the economy/country /business. I cannot wait till I turn 10. Only in the blinkered land of Labour.

Don't forget Fishers comes from Jockistan, and their biggest export for the last few centuries has been people. He doesn't get what you're saying because people emigrate from Scotland, not to it, so the concept of housing, education, etc squeezes is lost on him.
Go to to love his tub-thumping "I'm right, you're an idiot" pronouncements though.

Well?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

You're not getting this are you?
Even the most deluded fool knows that immigration affects housing, schools and wages, you seem to think you've reached a moment of clarity worthy of Archimedes in the bathtub, well done dumpy for spotting the bleeding obvious.

The point is...and pay attention because this is the only important part, nobody of any importance cares because the capitalist model just bloody loves immigration, it's good for business, good for GDP and good for the economy and all of the mainstream parties and politicians including your poster boy Farage know that. Labour didn't invent immigration as an economic policy tool, I think that might have been the Egyptians a couple of thousand years ago...so while you're busy shaking your angry little fist at anything with an accent the boys in power are pissing themselves laughing at you.

So what you are saying is we should all bury our head in the sand and just accept it.?
Keep quiet ,we cannot say anything, if we do the liberal elite will just use THE CARD. Where I live we are being swamped by immigrants. Everyone who I talk to says the same, I think you would call it the silent majority. Have you ever asked yourself why illegal immigrants go through numerous countries to get to Calais[ I always thought immigration was the next available country]. Its called soft touch Britain. Where as people in the past were quietened by the left wing loonies they are now prepared to stand up against the yoghurt knitters and say enough is enough.

No don't just accept it, argue for more schools, argue for better affordable social housing, argue for more funding for the NHS, just don't go along with the herd. You won't change immigration policy no matter which party you vote for so if you're going to waste your breath...waste it on something positive. You'll at least feel better about yourself.

But the "left-wing yoghurt knitters" haven't been in power for four years, four years dumpy of Tory rule...and what exactly has changed about immigration policy?
Nothing.
Do you know why?
Because nobody who understands the economic reality wants it to.

"immigrants" ? why not just call them "people" ?
this "them" and "us" debate is slowly dying as borders become more open. For the better I say.

The tories did not put us in this mess. As a labour supporter you should be aware of the big immigration lie whilst labour were in power.
Don't worry though, when labour get back in power they will look after the working man

If the DOM had been abusing young white girls, then the lefties would be looking the other way, as one of their former heroes Dennis Mcshane readily admits..

Immigration does not form a basis for a long-term economic policy. It's a quick fix. Nothing else. Only it's a bad quick fix. Imagine putting a sticking plaster on a cut, and then taking it off and finding a permanent rectangular mark on your arm which is indelible like a tattoo, after the cut has healed.
Today's figure bandied about by the creeps in Whitehall only talk about this year - do they ever include the future social costs, future prison places and translators and failing schools trying to teach 130 nationalities simultaneously? Terrorism? Do they ever put a value on the reduction in the quality of life and the optimism of the indigenous people? Never. That's something us poor plebs have to bear the burden of.
The vile anti-free speech laws Liebore forced through would mean Bernard Manning (RIP) would have spent the rest of his days in gaol, as would Chubby Brown and Jim Davidson had they continued their live shows in the vein of before, despite EVERY paying audience member knowing exactly what to expect and what they were paying for - all the 'isms' by mutual consent. You see, most humour is based on ridiculing religion, sex, race and beliefs.
What Dumpy is alluding to is the UNCR (UN Refugee Charter in plain terms) whereby a country can REFUSE entry to refugees and bogus asylum seekers and economic migrants if they have come through, or have a nearer safe country. Of course, the stench of the EU political union we never voted for has largely put paid to that common-sense.

Let me ask you liberals/leftists and Liebore apologists - at what point does the present saturation by incomers become classified as 'colonization' which the indigenous population (like the Fijians against the Indians) can justifiably rise up and take action to seize their own country back? At what point do we cease to be so-called 'racists' and become 'freedom fighters' like Mandela? At what point is the universal defensive or tolerant part of human nature breached by the actions of our leaders? I think in many cases it has already been breached, which is why the raft of oppression has come from the legislators of this and other European countries. When you act against human nature, a large degree of force or threat is necessary to propagate those actions. This is how we are living now, and the OP is simply an example among thousands.

"Immigration does not form a basis for a long-term economic policy." - Maybe, but when have politicians ever thought about anything long term ? NEVER

never would be justified, the "indigenous population" lose their right to complete sovereignty as soon as they allow legal immigration.

"At what point is the universal defensive or tolerant part of human nature breached by the actions of our leaders?"
there hasnt been a military coup, we have a form of democracy and we have elections, maybe your philosophy is the minority one ?
