Message for True Blue Terrier, if we get a Yes, please visit and bring that award winning Yorkshire beer up for a party.
Laughable that you bring up Thatcher and the Tories, 11 SNP Mp's sided with the Tory party in 79 to bring down the Labour Government and pave the way for 18 years of Conservative rule.
If as you say it'll be endless Tory rule then how does dealing with a Tory chancellor in the unlikely event of a currency union sit with you?
If the SNP feel marginalised in a Union of 4 countries then why are they so desperate to join the EU?

Re: If Scotland votes aye
Well if it was a Yes and they didn't join the Eu it would be a good blueprint for when we pull out. At the time it was thought that the EU was a good thing to unify the member states BUT it was a very small coalition - now it's a blueprint for scroungers and practically third world countries are jumping on the band wagon.simply_the_best wrote:if the SNP feel marginalised in a Union of 4 countries then why are they so desperate to join the EU?

I'll bite, is it Harvie last night going on about renewables and dismissing fossil fuels, the basis of the whole guess campaign?
Mary Doll did wonders for Yesnp last night as well

Re: If Scotland votes aye
What will happen to us if the vote is yes,the biggest losses in Royal Mail happen in rural areas and we have some of the biggest in Great Britain.
If it is yes then in an independent Scotland we will have massive job cuts plus the ones who are left will have to sign new contracts with our new employers who will be the scottish government .
We will be brought down wage wise to the rest of our competitors ie minimum wage,is this what we want.

I don't mind a debate but what you've said is pure guesswork and could easily happen (or not) no matter what the outcome of the referendum is.
No more unverifiable scare stories please, we've had enough of those to last a lifetime...or two.

Do you like using the pound?
Do you like freedom to move around Europe?
Do you like being able to rely on the global offices of the UK high commission?
Do you enjoy the current benefits of EU membership?
Do you know that your shopping bill is less than what the South of Ireland pay?
Do you appreciate the fact you have an NHS?
Do you appreciate the current interest rate of your mortgage?
Do you appreciate the fact your savings in the bank are guaranteed by the bank of England?
Do you appreciate the fact that you will have energy to run your house during winter and that it is not under threat due to the current animosity of Russia in the Ukraine?
Do you appreciate the service provided by the UK armed services?
Vote No to guarantee the above, what does a Yes vote Guarantee?

I like using money if that's what you mean, I would imagine we'll still have money either way...or maybe some kind of barter system, I like the sound of that.simply_the_best wrote:Do you like using the pound?

How do you know what my f***ing shopping bill is?...and those blue pills are for medicinal reasons only.Do you know that your shopping bill is less than what the South of Ireland pay?

Yes, especially all those Scottish soldiers who invariably and inexplicably ended up in the front line of every little imperialistic skirmish dreamed up in London by those who only fired a rifle in anger at the occasional pheasant/peasant.Do you appreciate the service provided by the UK armed services?

Re: If Scotland votes aye
Have you got any sort of clue how any of the currency plans affect the country, not just you?
What have Rangers got to do with it?
You realise the SNP spent money on private contractors in the NHS, and spending on the NHS in Scotland has increased year on year since 2010
You know for a fact the Tories will win the next general election then the resultant referendum will see the UK leave the EU
Plenty of other folk have savings but I have none so feck them
I'm not surprised you have an ex-wife

My post was supposed to be a little light-hearted in an attempt to bring a little joy into an otherwise dreary thread full of unverifiable scare stories, what ifs and general bollocks.simply_the_best wrote:I'm not surprised you have an ex-wife
You on the other hand have simply shown yourself up to be a bitter and nasty little man.

I thought it was all quite sensible until this last sentence, then the old whines of the Celt shines through.Yes, especially all those Scottish soldiers who invariably and inexplicably ended up in the front line of every little imperialistic skirmish dreamed up in London by those who only fired a rifle in anger at the occasional pheasant/peasant.
Poor us. Always hard-done-by by the bluddy English aristocracy. Yawn.
