A man found himself in court after he lost his temper at a postie who trailed mud up his drive.

Karlton Heath Walsh, 42, of Firbeck Avenue, Skegness, admitted two allegations of disorderly behaviour, on July 4 and 5.

He was given a one-year conditional discharge at Skegness Magistrates’ Court.

The bench heard Walsh had previously made a complaint about the postman who he thought was treading mud up his driveway.

And when he saw him delivered post to his house on July 4, he lost his temper and swore at him.

The next day Walsh also lost his temper and swore at PCSO Dee Philips when she came to investigate the complaint made by the postman about Walsh’s conduct towards him.

Mitigating, Dave Clapham said that Walsh was a man who made his feelings known and sometimes came across as a bit brusque.

He said: “He understands using that type of language can be offensive but what you see is what you get.”

Magistrates said that the serious side of the incident was that it involved a postman, who was a public servant.

Walsh was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

A Skegness man, who lost his temper with his postman and then with a police community support officer who went to investigate the following day, has been conditionally discharged for a year by magistrates in the town.

The court was told that Walsh had previously made a complaint about the postman who he thought was treading mud up his driveway but then when he saw him as he delivered post to his house on July 4, he lost his temper and swore at him.

The next day he also lost his temper and swore at PCSO Dee Philips when she came to investigate the complaint made by the postman about Walsh’s conduct towards him.
