Question...Accruing OT as Leave.
Banking of hours has recently been banned in our office.
It was very family friendly and a godsend for those who needed extra days off.
People would also bank 2-3 months of leave and visit relatives abroad.
It was handy during Ramadan. As the start of the festival is not confirmed until a few days before and could not be planned with annual leave.
I understand there are contradictions with the way toil works in different offices and mail centres. There are also differing opinions on toil.
Is the sudden removal of the banking of hours an attack on a worker's rights or was this 'perk' being abused?
Where do you stand? Do you still use toil and are you able to bank hours?
How would you feel if it was suddenly stopped without consultation?
Something doesn't quite sit right here.
Is this removal against the family friendly values or not?
A few questions and thoughts there, just interested in people's views on the subject.
Thanks.
