FFS - Some posties are thick

Post by celerycelery »

New hours in our office started this week. In at 6.15am much like alot of other offices. Came in at 6.15 exactly and there were posties sat on frames already chucked in and even 1 doing a re-direction. Finished IPS and they were rushing round like idiots. Allowed out at 9.30am. As soon as clock hit 9.30 loads were out the door like whippets. Alot didnt take 1 minute meal break and some even took extra bags with them as driver was doing his job properly and having his full break. They finish at between 12-12.30 instead of 14.30. This is playing straight into croziers hands as we are doing exactly what he says - not working our hours. Whats the use in striking when some posties continue to take the piss like this.

It's because of the golden carrot that was dangled infront of us 4 years ago "Job and finish"
Your office isn't the only one. They do it at mine. Our hours changed from 5:30 to 5:45 Mon-fri and 5:30 to 6:15 start on a saturday. I'd bet they'll all be in 5:30am on saturday too.

The prob is for some they still think its the 80s and 90s and the problem is its not and they need to wake up real quick or else they will be coming back for more jobs.
Wanna p.ss your Dom off get everyone to come in at five do not take your car get your bags outside the managers office and get them to your bag drops thats if you have any and watch his/her face drop.
Not only will you safeguard jobs you might even get some hours put back in as i believe at Wallingford they have started doing jobs just as they should be done and they are already on about putting two deliveries back and putting some night schedule in.
:nana even the nana likes the sound of more schedule.....

I dont know about you but I find the job so much less stressful ever since Ive done my job "properly" You know what time you will finish and if theres too much you just take it back and its the managers headache :)

thats fine, RM are having to pay more to get done what you would have done for nothing extra in the old days. They cant realistically keep this up long term theyll go bust.

Having maybe to work longer hours on a Saturday mucks it up for us footy fans wanting to go to away games etc? A good deal would be to work full hours in the week & job & finish on a Saturday coz I'm sure we all would like a decent weekend?

You're not joking mate. We're a 6am start on Saturdays. We've got lads with Liverpool and Everton season tickets at our office and I quite like going to watch Tranmere Rovers every so often. Apart from them, some people struggle to get home to watch the game on the box when it's an early kick-off. Then, there are other people who play football or rugby league. Those games kick-off at 2pm once the clocks go back.
Then there are people who just like to spend time with their families. Why should anyone be denied a day out together just because two pr**s at the top decide on this, and the managers (who all bugger off home at 9am and only work every other Saturday anyway) go along with them?

Job and knock is almost unheard of in our office, unless you are the privileged few - like work in the PSA, or on the FSM.
