Overtime is not compulsory therefore if delivering to a neighbour is going to send you over, there is no compulsion to do it.
They came down hard on doorstepping. Now on rural deliveries, doorstepping was the only viable way to deliver first time if they weren't in. Now there is no chance for these people because most have no neighbours close by.
I cannot for the life of me see how delivering to a neighbour can be deemed safe. I think it generally works most of the time but so does doorstepping. The larger the scale that delivering to a neighbour is done then the more problems will start arising from it.
Leaving a person's parcel with someone you don't really know is not safe, it just generally works so RM have moved the goalposts because it suits the current agenda.
The answer to delivering first time is here. On the back of p739s that are left are instructions to aid delivery first time, about parcel safe boxes, leaving instructions on doors etc...
Also, every parcel, when ordered should ask for delivery instructions.

Re: Our Delivery to Neighbour guidelines
Any reason RM dont offer a parcel safe box installation service, seems theyre missing out on a massive money spinner. They could make it that only RM could access it too, what a great motivation for people to use RM over other companies/banner18 wrote: The answer to delivering first time is here. We were told that Tracked items should be left 'Under cover and out of sight' when possible. Has this changed?
