To be honest,I'm not that bothered if the whole corrupt lying, bullying, selfish pile of sh1te that is Royal mail goes under, then all those who have come in early, cut corners and ran around will blame everybody but themselves, maybe it would be the kick up the ass I need to get another job,and leave with my pride and dignity intact

Putting aside the obvious concerns over peoples' livelihoods, does this dehumanising business deserve to prosper?

Not with the pile of shite they have for DOMs & DSMs I would say, the only pleasure I would get if the business was to sink is in knowing half of the incompetence gaffers who call themselves managers would struggle to gain employment on the same level they currently enjoy..lollollol wrote:Fair play...jack wrote:DB1100 wrote:To be honest,I'm not that bothered if the whole corrupt lying, bullying, selfish pile of sh1te that is Royal mail goes under, then all those who have come in early, cut corners and ran around will blame everybody but themselves, maybe it would be the kick up the ass I need to get another job,and leave with my pride and dignity intactfunny you should say that I was thinking exactly the same thing..

Re: Rm Share price
There comes a time when you get sick of seeing the pressure put on people to do impossible workloads, people so worried they would rather come in upto 2 hours early rather than face the managers test's and sly comments, having your mail counted and being told that you have plenty of time to do it,trying to jam 6 lots of d2ds into an already full frame, having to sit and listen to RMTV,some mornings I just want to grab a manager by his ears and bounce his head of my frame, trying to cram all the mail, trollies and parcels into a clapped out vauxhall combi, come on TNT,I've never come across so many incompetent people in charge in all the places I have worked. If these idiots had been in charge of DDay our lads would still be sat in the channel, wearing hi vis of course.lollollol wrote:Fair play...jack wrote:DB1100 wrote:To be honest,I'm not that bothered if the whole corrupt lying, bullying, selfish pile of sh1te that is Royal mail goes under, then all those who have come in early, cut corners and ran around will blame everybody but themselves, maybe it would be the kick up the ass I need to get another job,and leave with my pride and dignity intactfunny you should say that I was thinking exactly the same thing..

Re: Rm Share price
RMs biggest problem has been it's biggest for many many years.... incompetent, greedy management. Whilst they are there RM is destined to fail. Anyone with half a brain for business would have taken the competition head on, expanded, diversified, done what it takes to put all competition out of business. So what did consecutive RM bosses do? Cutbacks, cutbacks, cutbacks and sucked the pot dry with their excessive bonuses and golden handshakes. Wouldn't worry about share price. By the time we can sell our shares they will be worth next to nothing or RM will be re-nationalised! Along with RM doing nothing but cutback the other thing that is certain is that the workers will get diddly squat out of the sell off, we are a necessary evil for RM bosses and the share offer was merely a bribe so we would stand back and let the privatisation go ahead unhindered!
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

Re: Rm Share price
Share prices are governed by two main factors: the health of the company and stock market sentiment.
The recent falls in the RM share price are based on lower than expected growth rates which the company has a legal obligation to publish and also the possible threat to the USO and the costs involved with maintaining it. The GLS debacle in France must be a factor too, and I do think that the general mood coming out of Royal Mail management is negative, which can’t be helping.
Also what tends to happen is that the stock market receives news that a company isn’t performing as well as expected, so investors sell some of their shares while they’re at a higher price. Others then see that they’ve sold and decide to sell themselves before the price drops even more, resulting in a ‘snowball effect’ which is what we’ve seen over the last few weeks. The opposite effectively happened when the shares were going up in value!
The important things to remember are that:
RM was only privatised in October 2013, so a relatively short time ago – the share price might only be finding its level.
Many big investors took a quick buck based on the rapid rise in share price and a drop was inevitable when they started to sell.
The company is now worth about the same as what many experts believed it was worth anyway.
Lower share prices make for better investments and as the expected dividend for 2016 is something like 23p(assuming expected profits) that should attract income seekers to buy shares.

Re: Rm Share price
A further downward pressure on the share price is the approval at the AGM of a Save As You Earn (SAYE) scheme, which could result in the issue of more shares to employees, diluting - very slightly - the value of the existing shares.RobertT wrote:Share prices are governed by two main factors: the health of the company and stock market sentiment.

Under the scheme, employees will be able (on a voluntary basis) to save between £5 and £100 per month from their weekly pay, into a 3-year SAYE scheme. At the end of three years, you will have an option to use the accumulated savings to buy shares in Royal Mail, at a 20% discount to today's share price. Obviously, if large numbers of employees participate in the scheme and all of them choose to use the funds to buy shares, rather than simply take out the savings they have accrued, this could result a a large number of shares being issued, slightly devaluing those already on the market.
(Post amended after re-reading the rules of the scheme

Re: Rm Share price
Personally I can't see that being too much of a problem as we only own 10% as it is and i can't see many wanting to buy more especially if they haven't already bought some in the EPO. Plus there are only a certain number of shares available, so if it’s oversubscribed the savings limits will be scaled back.

Come out on a duty for a couple of months and then it will make sense to you. All privatisation has brought to the foot sloggers is misery day in day out.Brain Fury wrote:That doesn't make any sense. Next prediction under £3.30 when RM workers can sell.
Workers conned again.
Maybe conned isn't the right word. But will our shares be worth more than £3.30 or less??? Our shares will continue to dip because RM know most workers will sell.

Re: Rm Share price
I'm not sure that shares will be even worth 20% less than today's price in 3 years time, if/when shareholders become aware of the real state of RM, they will abandon ship and the price will drop like a dead weight... long before us OPGs get the chance to sell our SIP held shares.wandle wrote:RobertT wrote:
