TAX! P46, part-time...

Got my first pay slip through yesterday. £31 out of £142 to Tax. Was thinking this was a bit much, called the number on the back, the guys says there was a problem, check my p46 get a new one if needed. Done all that waiting on next weeks pay slip, just wondering how much tax should be taking out from
£142. Part-time, 17 year old, no past jobs, former student? :cfo :lfo

been taxing meas if its week one in the tax year ever since... am i due a tax rebate in April?

My cousin (nursery nurse, manager) 24, full-time pays less tax than me.

As Stuart said it is probably emergency tax, you will get it back when they've sorted you out a tax code

If it keeps up, you can contact your local tax office. You could tell Royal Mail too... but I wouldnt know who to tell...

ive been getting taxed as if its the 1st week in the new tax year since May..

cant wait till April when/if i get a rebate

I should be getting £133 after tax (before £142). Now I woulnd't mind that.

I recently got a tax rebate on the cost of cleaning my uniform over the past few years................£406 trouble is they did'nt give it to me in one hit, I pay £5 less tax each week
