whatever you call it flexing is voluntary and reverse flexing can only be done with the employees request and managers approval. It certainly isn't retrospective.

If all the work can be completed within your contracted hours then you should do it. If however your workload is too much to complete on time then you are not under any obligation to complete it all, merely what you can manage within your hours. This is true regardless of whether you are being asked to do extra work or it is just your normal duty that will take you past your time.

If you can't complete your manager may ask you to either perform the work and book overtime or may ask you to work longer hours that particular day in exchange for shorter hours later in the week. You are not obliged to do so.

If a manager claims that because you finish early one day then you owe them hours they are either ignorant of the terms of the agreement or lying.
Can somebody point to the agreement paragraph that covers this as I want to print it off, also can you give me clarification that this has not been superseded. As I have had this argument with a rather snotty Dom who is supposed to be having a 1 to 1 with me over it, we have no unit rep so you fight your own battles.
If banking of hours is not allowed I am going above his head and flexible hours is getting rammed down his throat.

Theres nothing in any agreement that says banked hours have not been agreed, what you could point them to is the below part of the pay and mod agreement 2007 where its was set to look at it, but nothing was agreed to or implemented in regards to banked hours:

Joint Working Group 2 – New Reward Framework will examine pay
simplification possibilities (within the existing pay bill), a new pay and
reward package, different pay models, reviewing on what the local
element of the ColleagueShare dividend for years 2 and 3 will be based
and MTSF. The Group will also consider how to implement monthly pay.
It will also review annualised hours or banked hours, flexible working, and
possible changes to attendance patterns that could both benefit the
business and employees and is in line with the company’s family-friendly
policy. The group will decide whether it needs to operate sub groups for
any element of this

if you have no local rep but are in the CWU then contact your branch and get the ADR (Area Delivery Rep) involved.

27 years in the Cwu and toying with the idea of taking on the rep as getting a bit pissed off with this arrogant toe rag of a Dom, even if it only gets to whine the bugger up . Thinks he smarter than the average bear but this bear fights back .
