OK then, why can't the postie sign for it if that is the case? It has always been that way, specials and recorded could not be left with neighbour. Sorry your leaving yourself open to disciplinary action by getting neighbour to sign. Neighbour: "I haven't signed for it". So were is it?

Also if you input the neighbours name when getting a signature won't that breach PayPal's seller protection policy (as far as ebay traders are concerned) which ask for proof of delivery by the recipient.

Delivery to neighbour you can't say with any certainity where the item ended up, at the very least the PDA should have an option to record the house number it went to.

I saw a DPD driver take a photo of a house with his scanner the other day as he delivered to a neighbour, looks like new practice?

Seems it's true. http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php ... ostcount=4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It sort of does for recordeds. If I have a packet being signed for by a neighbour, I input '10 Smith' on the PDA, if for example if Mr Smith signing lives at no 10. Shame there's no option to record this vital info for tracked tho.

The postie can't sign for it because the agreements currently enforce don't allow it.
The agreements do allow for the neighbour to sign.
What is to stop the addressee signing for it and then claiming they didn't receive it?
Addressee: "I didn't sign. That's not my signature"
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

BernardBresslaw wrote:The new deliver 2 neighbours scheme clearly says that recorded delivery can be left with a neighbour so that takes priority. Only Specials can't now.
...And international signed for can't be left either.

Recorded has a purpose because customers need a record of delivery, however a tracked service should be introduced for anything letter and large letter sized. The doorstep scan is conformation enough for thousands of companies so I don't see why the public would have an issue with it. Recorded letters/LL would then be pretty much pointless and time wasting.

What do International Signed fors look like from abroad? I know the UK style sticker.

Like there's those Chinese packets which require a signature codes starting 'RC'.
