accusing the company of manipulating its profit now, pretty serious accusation there, that would be fraud wouldn't it?
And the royal mail do not report their annual profit to the internet, they release it to the press hence thats why sky news,bbc news etc break the news on their tv channels.

Re Posties collecting from Pillarboxes maybe RM have realised that they need to get mail even earlier also I wonder if they will have the collections staff performing cut-offs and redeliveries in the evening too. I think the main reasons are that the MCs are struggling to cope and maybe RM want mail brought in earlier might even save the early shift

38k boxes!? How many boxes are there up & down the country!?

There are 115 000 collection boxes in the UK , the 38 000 which will go to delivery staff are ones which have 50 letters or less posted in them.

In terms of the access time being changes , this is correct as well , previously 89% of boxes had to have a final collection between 4 and 7.30 irrespective of posted volumes or location

Now the spec is that 98% of addresses have to have a post box within 0.5 miles from their address which will see not only allow for some late collections to be switched off but also a reduction in the number of collection boxes. It will not have an impact on business collections who pay for late collections. `it will have an impact on mail centres , professional drivers as it could bring forward the operation due to more work being collected earlier.

There are a couple of other trials happening including a review of collection hubs and moving to satellite hubs.

The job is changing , the collection stuff in the main is due stamp letters being down by 56% in the last 7 years.

So if a rural driver has to travel miles out of their way to empty boxes on their way back into the office, is this time going to be factored into georoute and all duties looked at if that's the case or is this going down the same road as DTN/FTD? In fact don't bother answering that, I already know the answer. It reads something like this.
