Is it technically cold calling if you have a packet for neighbour? As a lot of homes have stickers against it.

Far too logical for the farking numbskulls that laugbhingly pass for management these days.
Talking common sense will get you nowhere

I have a few who will take for any neighbour except x because "they never come and collect them".

Also on a Saturday if we get out early i ain't waking neighbours up if people cant be arsed to get out of bed themselves!

Anyone know what the actual reason is for doing this, obviously it means we'll bring less items back to the d.o. are they considering reducing the amount of callers office staff ?

''its what the customers want'' and to reduce complaints is the line.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

I spoke to the DOM today about this issue.

Ticketmaster have paid for the tracked delivery and it states " do not deliver to neighbours " on the packets.

we have now been told that we DO have to deliver to neighbour even though ticket master have stated not to.

How many of these will have to be " mislaid " by said neighbour before TM pull the plug and go with someone else?

it's a big contract for us and would be a shame to see it go just because a numpty in a suit higher up the food chain thinks it's a good idea to go against what the customer wants.

Personally, I will NOT be delivering these items to a neighbour, I will just put a neighbours house number on the packet to show that I tried to :)

I would give my right arm to be able to sit in on one of these management brainstorming sessions.
It must be like a chimps tea party.
I really can't believe that these supposedly intelligent people, can be so devoid of any commonsense.

TicketMaster items are excluded according to our manager. If it says 'do not deliver to neighbours' then do not deliver to neighbour - simple as!

* We are going to be trialling with Tracked items first. I actually tried 2 neighbour today and no luck. And the two separate had cars on the drive. One had 2 cars on the drive and another across the kerb - 3 cars and a window wide open and still no answer...

That smart Alec from the Courier really winds me up - even customers with all the signs that someone is in sometimes are not really in or do not come to the door. Some teenagers do not bother, folks in the back garden; TV on, smoke from exhaust and running taps does not mean someone will come to the door. And that can happen with customers and then neighbours...

Two packets gone missing in last six months, when left with a neighbour with a correctly filled in P739. Refuse to do it now unless its a regular drop point.
