IMELDA HOLMES - PERSONAL ASSISTANT AT CWU HEADQUARTERS

It is with deep regret that I write to inform branches that Imelda Holmes, Personal Assistant to John East in the T&FS Department, has died suddenly at home.

A number of branch officers and activists will know that Imelda served the union for many years as a branch representative and member of the Standing Orders Committee, prior to becoming an employee of the CWU.

She was a much loved and respected member of our team at CWU Headquarters and we are profoundly saddened by her sudden loss.

Our thoughts are with Imelda's family, particularly her partner Dave. I will on behalf of the CWU convey our deepest sympathy and condolences to them.

Imelda Holmes - Funeral Arrangements

Further to LTB 444/14, I am writing to inform branches of the arrangements which have been made for Imelda Holmes' funeral, who sadly passed away last week.

The full details are as follows:

Date: Tuesday 15th July 2014
Time: 12pm (noon)
Location: East Chapel, Croydon Crematorium, Mitcham Road, Croydon, CR9 3AT

After the funeral, a reception will be held at Ruskin House, 23 Coombe Road, Croydon, CR0 1BD.

Mel's family has kindly asked that we gather to celebrate her life and therefore requested that people wear something colourful rather than the traditional black attire.

They have also requested that there be no floral tributes but if anyone wishes to make a donation to Mel's favourite charities, then please make a cheque payable to either the ‘Cat's Protection' or ‘RSPCA'. Cheques should be sent to:
