Would those be the same top knobs who have been demanding that Ofcom look into the sustainability of the USO now rather than wait until the end of 2015?
Bovvered? Do they look bovvered? I think so.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Bishbashbbosh wrote:Exactly the response I expected. Maybe rm chat is filled more so by the kind of people that would respond like this, but for the guys who actually work hard for our £10 an hour, it's frustrating working with people who get paid the same but do as little as physically possible. When the time comes that jobs are cut, I hope it you guys that feel the brunt of it because there will be a time that job cuts are based on level of work and not the seniority boundary that many of you hide behind!

It won't be me....I've got far too many years in

How is that then?
A duty that I finish by 12.30, but the regular can't seem to finish until gone 3, albeit a lot older than me.
You moaned about people knocking off early in your first post, yet here you are bragging about completing a walk at 12.30, what time do you start in the morning.

yes , but are constantly being told that Ofcom don't see it as a problem ? and competition is good for the business. so who is wrong then. so its about r/m said let the completion deliver there own mail , all over the country not just certain parts where its easy and makes them money.

Because we were/are a monopoly and neoliberal economics doesn't like monopolies.
In order to facilitate competition, new businesses are allowed access to our pipeline in order to break up our monopoly.
Privatising Royal Mail is one part of the agenda. Allowing the competition to grow is another.
We can't do what we like because we are governed by the knobs we vote in.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Access Headroom
Condition 21(5) of Royal Mail’s licence sets the minimum percentage level of
headroom between the access price and the analogous retail price (reduced
by the maximum amount of all discounts available), for each weight step for
the duration of the four year price control. The intention of this restriction is to
prevent a margin squeeze between Royal Mail’s retail and access services.
Under Condition 21(5), Royal Mail is required to “take all reasonable steps” to
ensure that it maintains an appropriate level of headroom on each retail
product with an access equivalent.

My incredibly poor intelligence and work-ethic has got me exactly the same job as you have.

I would be interested if you could break down how a hard working go-getter like yourself does the job. Here's my example....

Come in a 10 minutes before start time - get a quick coffee in. :cuppa
Start working at scheduled start time (not before and not after)
Take mandatory break.
Perform full vehicle safety check.
Load vehicle safely using proper equipment and techniques.
Exit conversation with lino - fully and enthusiastically discussing any potential problems :arrrghhh
Perform delivery using Lightweight Trolley (NOT an optional extra - mandatory equipment)
No cutting across lawns
No hopping fences
No running
No door stepping
No carrying bags
Fill out any P739's fully and correctly - even those items left with neighbour, don't just scribble on an envelope where a packets been left.
Return to office at scheduled time.

The full delivery may or may not have been completed dependent on workload. If it hasn't been completed I'll quite often go back out and deliver it on OT.

I'm guessing you do all this only quicker?

She wouldn't be breaking any law because there is no law on statute that says we have to deliver a rival's mail, It could potentially be deemed anti-competitive but that would take years of legal wrangling to sort out and TNT don't seem to have any issues with risking what might also at some point in the future be deemed anti-competitive, Isn't that after all what RM are arguing with OFCOM about?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

And the 'Public' (in reality the Government) still owns 30%.
