Re: management bonuses
I wonder what percentage reduction is made for incompetence, such as sending out holiday lists which are to be returned by the beginning of October and then they are not acted upon until the following April.

Re: management bonuses
by the way we also put up with sh*t from you lot alsobustedflush wrote:leadseal wrote:Answered this before but it's not necessarily £3k !
It's 10% of our salary as a baseline. 5% is based on personal performance ie did we achieve our goals agreed at the start of the financial year. These could be, for example, reduce sick levels, reduce accidents, improve efficiency.
Further 5% is based on the business performance as a whole ie financial performance, Quality etc.
It's possible to go over the 5% personal side with exceptional performance! but hardly anybody does.
All of this considered, you then pay tax on the bonus (obviously), so for an average WAM it's nowhere near £3k
I understand that you find it unfair, however we don't get paid overtime and often work more than our contracted hours. We also put up with a lot of s**t from you lot (joke).
Why not out yourselves forward as an acting manager? You can always go back to delivery when you find out the grass isn't always greener
Ahhhhh.....poor devils, you only take home £2100 of it after TAX/N.I. Exactly 6 weeks take-home for a FT postie......

Re: management bonuses
The ripped open letter I saw for a nearby manager was over £3k. But they get this annually , we are lucky if we get a small bonus every 4 years.
Time and motion men should be watching management , then only paying them for what few hours a day they actually work. They should be on the streets giving us support and as I have always said "there is NOTHING to manage in the office (mail or staff ) after we have all gone out", make them part time .

Dealing with customer complaints, sometimes having to go out to meet them to discuss.
Inputting your hours, holidays, overtime
Reporting traffic figures and mail failures if any
Sick absence, conduct letters and reporting
*should be doing daily patrols* although this rarely happens
Dealing with vehicle servicing, repairs, taxation.
To name but a few. Also, don't forget we have Facebook profiles to update, new Candy Crush levels to play, and there's always something worth watching on YouTube

Is that you sat at Gregs with your big cuppa tea and sausage roll. Hope you didn,t overdo the 40 minute meal break, or as a manager do you get more?leadseal wrote:Funnily enough there is.5plusbonusball wrote:The ripped open letter I saw for a nearby manager was over £3k. Re: management bonuses
We have 3 counter staff, then 3 rle who mop up paperwork , then 2 doing something like sticker factory or weighing? , then the dom support doing all the staff hours then the dom doing the phone? then 6 linos on youtube! oh and 2 trolley pushers but the yard gets sorted by the van drivers and 3 cleaners , what a massive profit that coffee machine must make!
Seriously though we need more staff on delivery with earlier finishes and smaller duties to keep the morale up and customers happy .

Re: management bonuses
In all seriousness circa 3k isn't that great for a managerial bonus, had better in previous jobs for less stress.leadseal wrote:Funnily enough there is.5plusbonusball wrote:The ripped open letter I saw for a nearby manager was over £3k. Wish some of ours would get a grip though.....the whole walking away when you ask an operational question that NEEDS an answer....it induces indifference on my part..

Re: management bonuses
To be honest 3k a year bonus is lipservice and I think every non manager can't whinge about this "Oh I don't get a bonus but still have to work longs hours/put up with s**t/job is crap etc."
If Royal Mail honestly thought for 1 absolute second that an extra 3k on top of a posties wage would result in 0 sickness, 100% workrate, 100% delivery/collection compliance, 100% USO achievement and everyone happy running through the meadows holding hands, They would pay it in the blink of an eye.
For those that always say "I don't get paid enough to put up with this s**t " - Well then just how much would it take for you to 'put up with that s**t' ? - and once you had any extra would you ever complain about s**t ever again ?
3k is not a lot of money for the stuff linos have to put up with.
I'm not a manager or supporter of how they sometimes behave but bottom line is that it's a cheap ( Good work, keep quiet and your special really ) bonus given to them to continue pushing the grindwheel.
