Why do you come to that conclusion. I know very few reps who will want a mediator involved at stage 1 , 2 or 3 of the IR procedure and I don't know if many managers would want to request them. Remember mediators do not make agreements and cannot tell either Royal Mail or the CWU to move their position on issues they are there to attempt to get both sides to look at things in a different way.

Do you really think Royal Mail would look at things in a different way though, going from the shenanigans in our office there's only one way and that's Royal Mails way.

I thought they wanted ordinary posties. Four of the five on the non-management side are reps....I knew it would be a stitch-up.

Which raises the question that if Royal Mail and the CWU know how to train people to look at things in a different way then why do they need to train people to remind them they already know how to look at things in a different way. :left:

It is fairly simple when a rep negotiates they know what they want to get , the same for Royal Mail. Mediators do not take sides and cannot support either sides position they are there to try and bring both parties to an agreement but not to force an agreement. This is why it is a skilled job , and it was never just opened to OPGs !
