I think it is a fair point! Your flag flies off or come off and cause a distraction for another motorist and thereby an accident or worse... Do it in our own car!

Which for those that missed it, is what this thread was about in the first place.
I suspect it's a carpet ban on any such things.

There would never have been an issue with the poppy fifty years ago but it won't go down well in parts of Northern Ireland or, since forays into Iraq and Afghanistan, in some of England's more diverse cities.

There probably is no policy, after all you can't have policies to cover absolutely every eventuality. However, it doesn't present a good corporate image to customers and clients if we have tatty flags displayed on our vans. Now we may not agree with that, but we are in a post privatised world, and image as they say is king.

Hugely ironic considering the Muslim community is not so united we have currently the following conflict between Sunni, Shi'ite, Alawites, Kurds, Turks, Pakistanis, Afghan with myriad interpretations of the same religions, more atrocities have been committed on the other without any external influence, the execution of captured Iraqi soldiers is a case in point also beheading have taken place liberally in the Middle East.

Loyalty to your religion and loyalty to your Country are mutually exclusive, I quote
The Quran states, “O ye who believe, obey God and obey the Prophet and obey those in authority from among you” (4:60).

From among you can mean the Country of residence and community which they dwell in as in the UK is a mixed community therefore "from among you"

"image as they say is king" so a shame really that some of our vans are faded to a shabby shade of pink, others are battered as to suggest they've been round a stock car track while many of the rural ones are caked in mud as if just off a rally course.

The thread isn't about displaying flags on vans, it's about on your frame. Out of sight to the general public.
Where, if you were allowed to display an England flag during the World Cup it would be only fair for other nations to display theirs if they wished - thus offending nobody.

Doesn't matter now though does it.

There's an England flag up in our office. Nobody has said anything about taking it down.
Mind you it don't matter now.
