Then the celebrities were paired into teams and sent out on their first mass catering challenge - to provide lunch for over 100 members of staff at the London Central Mail Centre, Royal Mail's largest sorting office. Both teams floundered and were not on time and John has issues with Susannah’s baked banana dessert. “Trust me John, it will be fab”! he also thought Jodie’s pasta with pomodoro sauce was far too basic and boring.

Jodie Kidd stood with her legs splayed like a giraffe at a watering hole to chop the veg as she is so tall, and poor Russell’s short fat hairy legs gave out and he had to sit on a chair to do his prep. I lost count of the times Jodie said she'd been a model, yes we know dear; but what do you actually do now? Sophie miscalculated and prepared 20 puddings when it should have been 60. Throughout this challenge she looked deranged. On service, Russell’s steak and kidney pie and Susannah’s chicken dishes were most popular, but neither teams did well with desserts. The bananas were almost raw and plonked on the plate like a very dull frankfurter, while Sophie’s toffee apple pudding was according to Gregg, one of the most bizarre things he’d ever seen, while the banana dessert was disturbing. John said Susannah and Jodie had only done what they could get away with and not pushed the boat out to impress.

I watched that and it was nice to see some of my former colleagues. There isn't such a big queue for the usual Quadrant offerings though.

It's called a Staff Restaurant now.
The food was better and cheaper though when it was a canteen, and before it was outsourced to Trust House Forte or whoever it is who owns it now.
