The steep and undulating assume that you are dropped off at the top of the hill.

Perhaps you could use that excuse for steep if going only downhill, but then why not just say downhill!

Undulating however can never mean anything other than up and down which disproves your theory.

What's the benchmark time for scanning a R/D, typing in the surname, knocking on the door, waiting for an answer, getting no answer, knocking next door, start writing out a 739, get no answer next door, complete 739, post it along with mail, mark on PDA no answer, endorsing the packet, putting the packet + scanner back in bag.

That's the real time killer.

Has the union really agreed to these ridiculous time's,and what about the 5 minutes or so when you have to reboot the bloody thing,or the time wasted when the low battery warning pops up after the third call.

Those figures have not been agreed by the Union for actual timings, they are merely accepted for use in the delivery tools. (I would suggest they are implied as accepted, not agreed!)

For HCT undulating 4.90 3.04mph
For HCT steep 5.19 3.22mph

It is obvious that these figures are incorrect, you cannot be expected to go faster with a LWT over undulating or steep ground than you would over flat ground.

maybe they think you will push it hard up the hills and let it runaway on the downhills with you running after it

You are not far wrong, the planner told us that you will lose time going up, but going down you will make up the time and more.

I know this an old thread. Are those times still right? I usually give approx 2 mins from knocking on the door to walking away having carded it. Maybe I need to write faster?
