And we had 6 days to deliver them.

The only other D2D for me this week was a sky leaflet that has to be delivered on mon-wed this week. Ironic to see a full page spread for Sky on the back of this paper

A lot more people will put up signs now saying "no junk mail or free newspapers".
Hope Wales and Scotland get a similar drop.

I was just going to dump mine in the chimlea in the garden and burn it

I have decided to stick it in the nearest post box and I have offered to take my neighbours as well, also set up a post on face book.

As far as I'm concerned I want a full time job. I hope we get much more of this kind of thing. I want to see more part timers made up to full time. RM's whole business plan seems to be based on less work and less people. Nobody is making you stay out there all day doing these things for nothing. People saying RM don't pay us for doing them. They do, we get wages every friday. I wasn't happy about loosing D2D money either but we have, get over it. If you don't like the job, leave. Its easier said than done though and most jobs out there pay far less than we get. Really guys, get a life. When I started in the job we had one bag a day, 2 on a thursday and you got the hump if you had bills come in. Things change, we just have to get used to change. Its not easy and sometimes I shake my head with what I see and hear but at the end of the day it is work.

chrisj wrote:And Sky has a full page advertisement in the back. Great! Its all coming together for Rupert Murdoch!!

How much is that Ad worth going to 22 million houses?
the sun said in reports that they would be charging £300,000 for a full page advert and money from this would be used to fund the distribution of these 22 million free papers,
Normally they charge £35,000 for a full page advert in the regular copy but guess they can charge almost ten times as much as advertisers will know there advert will reach every address in england (apart from liverpool)

i dont think people have a problem with hard work its just that most can not complete excessive deliveries and dont like confrontation with managers. Where else do you have to argue when you want to go home at the end of a shift on time ?

I expect when everyone does these on Thursday instead of the agreed process for D2D, then they will think they can offer advertisers the option of having 'their' item delivered on a specific day.

I'm doing half on Thursday, not even bothering to put them in the frame.
I'm putting them in a separate bag on the L/W trolley and take them out as I go.
Then cut off at my finish time.

Not read every page, for obvious reasons. Going from the last four pages of the thread I have read it seems some people have been told they've only Mon through Weds to deliver their normal D2D's for the week so you've only The Sun garbage left come Thursday.

I've asked about that at our office and that is not the case. Management are obviously panicking and getting indoor staff to ram as many of the weeks D2D's in the frames by Weds but no one has actually been instructed that they need to have completed their normal D2D's by end of Weds.

I've also seen a few idiots on Face book, who as usual have no idea what they're talking about, saying they'll just put theirs in a post box. I can foresee quite a few problems on collections come Thurs/Fri.
