yes the erection crap was worth 3.5p to us so we got about £50+ for them so they could have given us 5p each at least for these. As someone said, if we pull this one off , more contracts will follow .

Our door to doors came in at the weekend for this week ( Thursday/Friday) they don't look as bad as I thought they would lol

Great post. I think it's great that the company that helps pay my mortgage has managed to get £22m odd worth of business, even though I loathe the Sun and all it stands for. But it depresses to think that the only way it will get delivered is by bullying and harassing of members of staff because there will be absolutely no plan put in place in the vast majority of cases.

I don't think the contract was worth £22m but 22m papers @ probably about 5p each.

It can't be £22,000,000 or £1 per copy.
When we got paid for Door To Doors it was 2.7p for those weighing from 60g to 80g which I think meant Royal Mail charged 8p each Add on a bit a few years later and for delivery over 2 not 6 days and it surely can't be much more than 12p to 15p each or about £3,000,000 total.

You're quite right. Still, 3m quid is a large bit of business. I would hope that RM have charged them a hefty premium to be delivered in 2 days. And I wish that the CWU had negotiated a payment per item to its members for letting RM break their own door to door spec.[/quote]

It will be worth a lot more than the cost of a first class stamp because the Sun is making money from Advertisement within the so-called free world cup edition mini-newspaper. The Sun will have had to pay a whole lot more for such a coverage if they are using the normal means of advertising... They are certainly getting a load more than they are giving away - even with the negative publicity.

I wonder what the other Newspapers will react or think about this stunt?

And what happens after this in terms of what we can shove into people's letter boxes?

We already deliver a council newspaper every three months here, although it is only a 12 page effort.

Its a Newsletter not a Newspaper and it is local council without any commercial interests...

Don't want to worry you all but I hear Father Christmas is planning to have the North Pole Star delivered to every house on Christmas Eve.

Seriously though this will surely be the first of a great many targeted Door To Door type items and we have to be ready for them, I say to them at work you have me for 8 hrs less meal relief what do you want me to do in that time; I know there is no way on a Thursday and Friday I can do that much more so what do I leave? I would willingly take just the Sun Newspapers if that's what they want.

Do your job and work to your time (utilising all available hours) or do overtime if you wish.

At present our stupid DIM still has us absorbing jobs on Thursday and Friday - he is going to be sick of the sight of The sun by Saturday!
