I would say the chances of Swindon MC closing are very small even given that it is poor performing.

I do not know whether you are a manager or not but ... I am going to state some facts here and must say that managers concern and staff needs their bottoms kicked... no ... why not ...

(1) Mail feed to delivery offices ( Rg Sn and Oxon ) ... lower standard on alarming rate and I would say pathetic.
(2) Missorts of normal mail, customes , trackers and even " specials " where addresses are written very clear , correct post code and your staff is shoving this 100% correct addressed mail to wrong delivery offices.
(3) Is staff at Swindon mail centre got some kind of reading probplems? I would suggest local further education college would help to your staff who can not read 100% correct addressessed items.
(4) Missorts form Swindon is big problem and after 3 years YOU and your managment could have done NOTHING yet .
(5) Do your staff sort while asleep and manager sitting in their offices while on Facebook or e.bay ?
(6) Delivery Offices have some important job to do , delivering mail but not sorting YOUR sent missorts.
(7) Time after time delivery offices raised this missort point to SN mail centre ... what did you do about it ? absoultely f***all. Give me one reason now not to close down SN mail centre ? Your SN mail will have lot less chances for survival when TNT start OX, RG SN and GL mail delivery.
(8) Just tell me one thing ... for the last over 3 years why couldn't you sort out missorts problems at Swindon Mail Centre? is there ANYBODY from your office available to say here ?

I do not know ... this missorts from SN is affecting DOs performance. DOs havn't got qualified sorting staff because our guys are for delivery , they do not know the missort sorting. This is the problem should be addressed properly and only people who can do it , are in Swindon mail centre. (DOs staff are not missorts sorters becasue they not trained in this field) and DOs havn't got time and resourses ( manpower ) for sorting .. missorts from Swindon.

You would be interested to know ( if you ask me I will send you photo copies ) of mail which is clearly addressed for Swindon area .... are being sent to RG and OXON delivery offices... what ? yes sir... every day ...SN mail to RG and OXON delivery offices .... whats going on ??

Its mainly stuff that goes through the TOPS2000 (flats sorting machine). These machines have always generated shed loads of missorts.

and ......
(3) SN mail to Bristol

Is there any need for Swindon Mail centre which is bottom of the quality list of 42 Mail Centres in the UK ?............just watch this space after Christmas... this is something to worry for every one. 10 managers got redundancy and will they offer to postal staff ??

I can't see it myself I can see a MC being built for GU/RG & SL but where is the question? OX for HCN good call and SN could go to Bristol its doable

Doubt they will put mail into Greenford MC as the site may be the subject of a compulsory purchase order as part of the HS2 project.

Yes, still owed by RM. The vehicle repair garage is on the same site, still open, and the car park is still used to store the vans in for servicing.
