Re: Lapsing v Quality of service
I've been in work about 35 years all told, and never, never, have I seen such total disregard for somebody's property, in our case peoples mail.
Lapsing has to be the biggest load of bollox I've ever had to deal with at a workplace.
Awful way to treat people's mail.
Awful way to treat people's packets.
Awful way to treat staff with more than enough to do regarding their own walks.

Indeed.......Not forgetting managers with no ability to manage. I would say that the w*****s who pass for managers today, are the worst, least suited to a managerial role, I've ever had the misfortune to work under.Chelseablue wrote:Was once a great company ,ruined by greed .

Did you know Berk comes from old slang for Berkshire Hunt? So maybe you're right.DirtyHarry wrote:Indeed.......Not forgetting managers with no ability to manage. A carpeted office.Broxi51 wrote:Recently had a revision and now this week we are lapsing
Monday, perhaps 30% did it.
Tuesday, maybe 35%
Wednesday? We got called down to front of office and told that we
were to take lapsing and get out on delivery. No waiting for missorts.
We had been told when the revision was in planning stage that we would
need to start later because we had to connect with the missorts and have
a clear office and now 3 days into the 10 week lapsing season and the missorts
are brushed under the carpet.
London, by any chance ?

No doubt to be found at a later date by the cleaners... Say in 3-5 years time?Lounge Lizard wrote:A carpeted office.Broxi51 wrote:Recently had a revision and now this week we are lapsing

why worry what other people do that is upto them. come in ontime take my break and so does the guy i work with.I get pressured into doing lapsed i say i do it when i get back if the clock allows it.iI get threatened cos the majority of our office all come in early but im big enough to stand upto any manager in this company after being a manager myself for five years(not royal mail) ii know what they can and can't make me doand they hate it.Been dragged in office many a time over lapsing and eveytime i come out victourious i can't slow the clock down.

What you mean is a great place to work.Im afraid the cushy days are gone off only working five hours a day hence why the compamny was losing so much money when i started.Im not a manager things had to change i think things have gone to far the other way now though. All im saying is if the company hadn't changed we would no longer have a job.But i do agree with the greed bit i never understand why people with a six figure salary need a six figure bonus surely they get paid enough to meet targets and dont need extra reward for meeting those set targets.

and the more time you spend in the managers office means less lapsing time
