my frame has 800 calls and mostly double slots so it is impossible to to get these items in it as well as everything else so my d2ds will be getting done at 20% a day , my lwt only holds 32kg with 2 bags which I have on most days for my loops and I have told them I am not prepared to carry bags, so can bob Gibson and the idiot r/m person who took this contract on come and show me and my partner how to do it. whats all this s/a overtime ?

I think they can be spread over four days, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday so long as they're all delivered, one-sixth each day just being a suggestion of how they might all be delivered.

The Sun is a major UK and International Newspaper owned by a very powerful media mogul. Should the Royal Mail (still partly public owned and with certain privileges) be delivering for such a Newspaper (or nay newspaper) and its Network.

I know this is based on England being in the World Cup and it will be mostly pictorials and pull-outs and wall charts... But will it carry any editorials, comments and most importantly will it feature other commercial advertisements opportunities for the Sun?

The Sun is known for its jingoistic ways of doing things and not many people will like to have a newspaper that they could easily avoid by other means being thrusted upon by a company that really should be delivering letters and helping businesses promote their wares (some find that also dubious).

Also there are many that do not like Football at all...

What is the Sun getting out of this stunt? And I think it is more of a PR coup for RM than the money but it could all become a complete shambles if it rains on any of those days. The bosses will then find out why we should not be delivering newspapers - it is not our remit; I think!

I actually think that TNT are better placed for this sort of work. So RM might simply be opening the door for TNT to make shed loads of money and further expand. Why? Because there posties deliver very small items and they work individually using a bike. This sort of work is a one man job on a bicycle not for posties delivering letters, parcels and working in some sort of loop system from the back of a vans.

Is delivering the Scum to every house in Engerland gonna stop TNT cherry picking the UKs major cities? Has the brains behind this managed to win any major DSA contracts back for Royal Mail? You speak as though Royal mail is a private company operating on a level playing field, It isn't it is fraud marketplace manipulated for political and financial reasons.So for every contract like this won by Royal Mail theres a Glasgow or Newcastle for TNT to expand to and that expansion will in part be financed by Royal Mail through the DSA regulations.

The biz logic your coming from tends to imply that if we just give up more terms and conditions then the contracts and market share will come back,the whole point of the regulations so far has been to encourage the opposite. So when Moya Greene goes begging to the regulator to intervene to save the USO after posting record profits of nearly £700 million then do we have a better chance for a level playing field if we posted £1 Billion next year?We can all think we are Theo f***ing Paphitis but it wont bear much fruit for union members in the long run.

Exactly, we are delivering over 3 days apparently and the split on those 3 days is not even, 40/40/20%.

Where is the incentive and premium o/t for those working days before the tabloid Thurs/Fri? Throwing in an extra ~23% on Mon/Tues and delivering it (rather than only taking where we go with other mail upon agreement between duty holder/cover) will add loads of time.
