I did not suggest they turn away the work completely... But what they are suggesting we do is go beyond our normal ways of operating... And on top of that we are not being compensated for the inconvenience.

Sure, they can turn away the work... Sometimes, a company has to put other things about the revenue. I call it revenue at this stage because it is hard to know precisely how much pure profit they will make from this. It is going to involve some logistical challenges for RM and posties.

And the idea that we only work to our time is all well and good. This principle keeps getting tested and stretched every time. I can guarantee that most people will be working harder than normal next week and a lot more will be working beyond their time and for nothing throughout the week. And it will start with people spending their own time to prep all their d2ds on monday or tuesday.

The Union might not have a veto but they can always get their members money for deviating from the norm. Why exactly did we get paid for Election materials - and that was not, Even that hard to do - at least not physically and most were over 7 days?

got back from delivery today to find out that we,ve got to deliver all the dtds by wednesday because of the sun dtds on thursday and that its been agreed with the union, thoughts please.

Am I being a numpty here, because I cant find any reference in the letters copied to this thread stating the OTHER door-dustbins must be delivered MTW at 1/3 a day instead of 1/6 over the week??????
We had a meeting today and I brought this subject up and the DOM looked as if to say "what you on about?" as he had no indication of any advice like that. He is actually a good DOM the only one I've seen, and he did come up to me on my own and thank me for raising it later on, but reaffirmed that we could deliver the other door-dustbins as per normal.

All normal Door to Door items will be delivered during Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so that all Delivery routes are clear of all D2D items before the special items arrive and the commencement of delivery on Thursday 12th June.

It will be much easier to pay a token amount than to expect people to start going to managers to claim OT. Some managers will not willingly pay OT and some might say they will and then not...

This just plays into the hands of those with easier rounds again.

I just think it will be easier to swallow if they pay something out of the massive amount they are making especially since it is not our normal way of working. They are testing the waters and if they get away with this then we can expect to be delivering bulky samples of Oats, Baileys, Nappies, other newspapers and so on.

Where did you get £21m from? It would be less that 1/10th of that.
