It's the "poxy Union", as you call it, that is helping you too, even if you can't see it! I assume you are in the Union, if not then why not? You get better job security and protection, even if we do sometimes question what they do, as well as questioning what those at the top are up to. Without them [The CWU] Royal Mail would be in a real state workforce wise as the job cuts would no doubt have been even more expansive than they were, and you'd have even bigger and more unmanagable deliveries to carry out. Also you'd no doubt be in an even worse condition financially as well as in a job without any real security and so I suppose you'd like us all to be on zero hours contracts like a lot of other people are in this industry? As for your friends, do give details as no doubt you could expand on this and your reasons for your comment too?

Where extended delivery takes place on either or both Thursday 12th or Friday 13th June to enable all products to be delivered to specification, exceptionally this will be paid at Scheduled Attendance rate.

We were informed this morning that next week....We are to receive The Sun a Door 2 Doors (something to do with World Cup),and they all have to be delivered Thursday/Friday as requested by them

We asked ...surely we should get some sort of payment(like the election material) ...our Lino shook his head,told us the contract was worth a fortune to them (RM) and that our Union never attempted to negotiate any sort of payment for them

So this insinuates that aside from the Saturday, the DIMs should suspend summer lapsing (where done) all week in order to accommodate this Scum edition. 3 days M/T/W doing 6 days' door-dustbins and 2 days T/F to deliver the Scum?
Luckily on a personal level I'm on the same round next week as this, which is split into 10 light-ish pouches for both of us anyway, when there's actually enough to put in a pouch. So with a max of 60 calls in each bag the Scums will weigh max circa 3.36kg per pouch, well within the carrying weight limit when added to the other mail. (Before the torch and pitchfork brigade descend upon me this round is in most parts not suited to trolleying..)

I feel for those who may have a round say split into 3 or 4 trolley-loads and not as fragmented as the one I'm on - I can see this causing some aggro. In those cases even with a trolley the weight will be excessive, plus if you get hit with a clutch of those bloody 1/2 to 1-inch thick catalogues on the T/F alongside the Scum, you'd need a milk float let alone a trolley.

I'll ask my customers on this round which day is the recycling bin day, and if it falls next T/F I'll let 'em authorise immediate deposit in said recycling receptacle in advance....

The 20% d2d per day was to protect weight limits now suddenly they can be cleared in just 3 days.

Work to your time, then what you can't deliver just take it back. If everybody did this, it would make them think again about agreeing to something like this....maybe, then again maybe not.

The union should have said we don't care about the work we are losing to TNT or Amazon.
We don't want any new work and we want to finish 2 hours early every day.
Poxy union. It doesn't stand up for what the members want!
