In a word no. I never booked overtime except at Christmas but since park and loop I'm booking regularly.

Could it be that they know they have a day to recover unlike the rest of the week, and therefore their energy reserves can be dipped into :hmmmm . Rarely, are things so black and white as the Royal Mail Managers guide on how to get blood from a stone would have you believe.

That's because most people have all there d2d done, come in early and don't take their breaks to try and get finished on time so they can enjoy some kind of weekend. Unlike management who can just walk out the door from 10 onwards even though they have not worked all their hours for the week. So no not strange

CDV rounds are supposed to be shorter then if the rounds were done with a bag or trolley..THIS IS A FACT, if you are failing it needs to be tested.
Cdv's are only needed if the delivery starts or finishes a mile or more from from the office.
There are going to be even more problems in the future in that there are only going to be 3 planners for every region from now on.

We have not even had a planner in to do ours, we are a satellite office about 9 miles away from our main delivery office so we are out of sight out of mind (until something goes wrong and we telephone in)

We had to sort our own loops and plans and we had to write our own fitting labels out which we are still waiting to be fitted

Both groups start outside the sub-office and finish about half a mile from the office and my van does 4 miles a day on the round, I do more miles taking it home for the night

Our office was one of the first to use park and loop.
Half the office is OK the other half is botched.
We were told theres no money left to do a re-revision so its staying as it is.
We drop two loops everyday and packets.
Get this - After we have done our first 2 loops we have to drive 3 miles to start the rest of our delivery, This is for a town delivery not rural.
Our delivery is a proper botched affair!

This has been covered in various posts/threads on this forum and no doubt there will also be people out there who can/will explain the H&S side of this.

In reference to your question though. My answer would be a big NO as the P&L that is covered by myself and my co-worker is not working and never has done from the word go. It's also been walk-tested twice and each time it was found to be over sized, the first time the original DOM refused to do anything about it, citing not enough posties available. He was responsible at the time for the downsizing of the walks and getting them absorbed into other walks too, and that ours would have to be delivered by any postie covering it on overtime, this meant that on some days post was not delivered at all. [A forerunner of TNT -delivering mail every other day, over 3 and a half years ago!]

After the second walk test the same DOM admitted it was an error, as did the planners, and a huge chunk was removed and is now covered as an "unofficial walk" and is now allocated to a new postie and all we do is take out the tracked and specials for that part of the delivery.

We're now in the process of having ALL the walks in our DO re-planned and also, so it's said, having walks added back in to take into account the massive amounts of cut-offs from the majority of deliveries where walks were removed and absorbed. Time will tell if this will work as these are all P&L or single van deliveries also all bike deliveries will now be scrapped and where applicable HCT's will be used too.

A big fat NO then even to the new revisions to come too I bet.
