At least they can plan around it, either wait in or arrange for someone else to be there to take delivery. At the moment you wait between 7am till 4 30pm (or longer), time slots would improve the endless issuing of 739sinteresting wrote:Customers are not in for re deliveries now

Re: Sunday Working
RM will only deliver parcels on a Sunday where the sender has paid for it, so present Monday Tuesday parcels will still be there.interesting wrote:What happens to Mondays parcels

Re: Sunday Working
Get the management to do it as they are salaried
We have 4 managers in on Saturday and 2 are gone as soon as the delivery staff are out of the door delivering
One with his golf clubs in hand and the other off to football.
How about instead of having 4 managers in on Saturday, getting 2 managers work on Saturday and 2 on Sunday
It wouldn't cost RM anymore money being salaried

gluteus maximus wrote:In most industries now sunday is a normal day of working. Working a Bank Holiday now only attracts a day in lieu in the retail sector as a rule. Five days out of seven so i can see no justification for extra hourly pay rate for sunday working. I am sure future contracts of employment will now have this clause. People need to get out of this Royal Mail Bubble and see what it is like to be employed in the real world
Whose side are you on?
The fact is we are competitive, make good profits and are unionised (unlike the other workers you allude to like shop staff, bar staff etc.) Therefore, this should be discussed fully by the CWU and premiums paid for this, if and when it happens. If not, you may find many staff 'rediscovering' their Christian beliefs and being obliged to attend Sunday services all of a sudden.....
