You would normally now expect a reply in a week. Keep us updated but also keep identifiably info to a minimum.

The process for ET is different now you'll have to consider ACAS mediation first although it stops the ET1 time frame for at least a month.

Even if you win you have the option for an ET, especially if you feel your situation is untenable but seek legal advice first.

I know some managers are complete lowlifes but that one has to be a bit thick as well.

Appeal in couple of weeks. Got my dismissal notice with one date on the day I was dismissed. Got my P45 with another date on for the day i was supposedly dismissed HR and managers cannot agree on my dismissal date. Incompetence is a word that springs to mind!

have the new rules come in yet?
where if an employer allows a case to get to tribunal even though their case is flimsy they could be liable for upto a 5k fine?

Don't know if the new rules have come in yet, but do you think they would care about paying a 5k fine. If it was something like £100.000 It might make them think twice.

I think royal mail live in the hope that the mighty weightmans will strike the fear of god into anyone who dare have the gall to take them to a ET.

Good luck with your appeal.This is without a doubt one of the most shocking things I have heard in 23 years at this job.I hope all your workmates are behind you and ready to walk over this.If they don't then they should be ashamed of themselves,after all it could be one of them next.

Had appeal meeting, got my copy of minutes. Absolutely loads missed out, words changed. Nobody to take minutes, appeals manager took them himself. ET here I come!

Small toothed, pointless ACAS first remember.

Do NOT start it until

A) Roughly a few week before the ET deadline if they stall the appeal. (When Early Conciliation has finished you will have at least one calendar month in which to submit a tribunal claim).
B) You lose the appeal

The ET clock is stopped the moment you submit the EC, but only for around 28 days when they eventually tell you it failed and the ET clock starts again. If less than a month is remaining it goes back to a month but get it in writing with ACAS.

But we are getting beyond ourselves. Maybe the allegedly 'independent' Royal Mail paid manager really will be independent.

Lost appeal. It seems my line manager changed the story when interviewed by appeals officer. Completely different story now total fabrication to protect themselves. Appeals wouldn't look at original interview note's, feel like I have been screwed over to protect incompetent managers. Now I have to go through acas! Honestly don't want my job back, clear my name is all I want to do. Only concern I have is that if they can clearly lie and get away with it, the system is open to abuse by all manager's leaving all posties are at risk.
