Network 13
It's been an interesting week with the new network. Some artics coming with a 17ts worth of work or even less.

Still a lot of dead legs too but more DD trailers on the way?
Lots of savings to be made in logistics and I don't think it will be long before changes Are made.

Re: Network 13
The Double Deckers make sense for runs from PRDC and NDC but these new Neighbouring Network Runs they have put in place are bringing in maybe one deck of work. As for dead runs they will never get rid of them completely

The dead legs will be put out to contract Guaranteed, not in the near future but it will happen.rainbowwarrior72 wrote:The Double Deckers make sense for runs from PRDC and NDC but these new Neighbouring Network Runs they have put in place are bringing in maybe one deck of work. Re: Network 13
If there is a large DO on an artic's return journey to an RDC that has a suitable loading bay, they could take processed work from the MC to that DO. That would at least partially eliminate dead legsfalkor wrote:The dead legs will be put out to contract Guaranteed, not in the near future but it will happen.rainbowwarrior72 wrote:The Double Deckers make sense for runs from PRDC and NDC but these new Neighbouring Network Runs they have put in place are bringing in maybe one deck of work. Re: Network 13
Lets hope not or us MGV drivers will be all out of work. There have been rumours that the MCs would get their own dedicated fleet of Artics and 17t lorries. The problem is that RM never went the direction that DHL/TNT and others went and diversified into haulage. There were rumours a few years ago that Stobbarts were looking into taking the Artics and RDC work.

Re: Network 13
Already happens in BH, you don't actually need a suitable loading dock as you have artic trailers with tail lifts.SpacePhoenix wrote:If there is a large DO on an artic's return journey to an RDC that has a suitable loading bay, they could take processed work from the MC to that DO. Re: Network 13
But they don't have that many trailers fitted with tail-lifts. Most of the Single deck and double deck trailers are not and rely on scissor lifts. By the way whats the future with BH? Will they be moving in with SO/PO when they get that new MC?
