Re: what a day
3 days for addressed election stuff so why shouldn't it be 3 days for a bulk mailing like next books?
The amount of o't they promise to pay us not to mention the hassle and sickies costs must outweigh the contract profit!!
keep the deliverers sweet and the job will be better for everyone.

No, they can ask you to flex up to 30 minutes but cannot insist on it. They are storing up a problem for themselves. They should be resourcing to workload if we can trust what the union are telling us, but we all know that there is no chance of that as they have reduced the workforce and at the same time reduced the pace of delivery by imposing park and loop.

Re: what a day
Well, if that were to happen in my office I know which duty I'd be shifted onto on Monday! I'm a low-level reserve and usually clear up the bits nobody else wants. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, just work your hours and go home at finish time if you choose to. It's not your job to worry about what you can't do in your time, that's what the manager is paid for.terry2972 wrote:So what happens next? *edit: I should have said, though it should be obvious, do tell management that you're not completing before you go out on delivery. Leaves you totally in the clear then. I don't think there are many managers who'd expect such a massive rollover as that to be completed in normal duty time.

Re: what a day
Many thanks for that it's put my mind at rest the senior partners did tell management and also asked if we could leave some loops in the frame. I am 9 weeks into the job and haven't come across this situation before

Re: what a day
As a manager I can assure you that's not true.tansorboy wrote:But parcels/tracked/recorded/specials are up. And they don't count the Flats in the mail count , apparently.maisymoo04 wrote:And there saying the mails going down still
All mail is counted including flats. Ask your dom to show you his daily traffic figures and this will show mail counts for all streams including flats.

Re: what a day
Wow, that is shocking. Just keep on doing it by the book. I've only ever once had a double rollover myself (3 day's mail in one delivery). Just remember that it isn't your problem to worry about what you cannot do in your hours.terry2972 wrote:Well the saga drags on arrived at 7 no partner turned up had to prep myself had the 9 bags to put back in kept asking management for help then at 9 a lad from another Office turned up and had to cut off at 2pm so the back log of mail is building hopefully have a fulltimer with me in the morning How long will this go on??
So long as you are working your full hours and at a reasonable pace (and making sure that management know about the situation - I wouldn't rely on another person telling the DOM if it were me) then just get on and try not to stress about it.
