From UK to Belgium through USA and Brazil?

Hello!
I have a problem with parcel going to BELGIUM from UK.
I have no idea what is going on. Maybe you guys can help? Sorry for my English.

I have sent parcel with eBay item to Belgium address (International Signed For + Tracked) on 14th of April.
After few days big surprise on RM Track&Trace website : "DESPATCHED TOKENNEDY NEW YORK" I mean why USA?
Another few days later and parcel left USA and now apparently was "RECEIVED AT OECURITIBA" in BRAZIL?? I mean how is this even possible?
Why this parcel was forwarded from USA to Brazil? Do I have any chance of getting this item back or delivered to original recipient?
I am sure address was correct. I have original receipt of posting with correct country and address on it.
This is insane to me. Any ideas? Thank you very much.

Was the address printed or hand-written?

Was the tracking label one of them ones that comes off a reel? I'm wondering if the tracking label has fallen off and got stuck to something else. The sticky part on the back of the labels that RM use could do really with being over the whole of the back of the label

Yes, address was hand-written but clearly in capital letters.
Also tracking label of a reel. I remember two or three stickers on this parcel (one green).
Sender's address present.

As the last point it was tracked at was Brazil, try contacting Brasil correios. It's possible that they've either sent it back to the US (as the country that sent it to them), or sent it to the UK (as the country it originated from), or sent it to Belgium (as the country it's meant to goto). They might have sent it by normal surface mail but hopefully they'll be able to tell you where they sent it onto.

Just to give some information for people with similar problem to mine.
After journey through USA and Brazil and more than 3 months parcel was finally delivered to proper address in Belgium.
Goods were still present inside that parcel. I will be afraid to post somewhere abroad from now on. Thanks for help.
