Re: Management Resructure
Maybe team leaders to replace line managers and a lead team leader or dom/shift manager?

1 Dom
4 linos
On duty at one time
Then there's another lino
1 stand in(opg)
Two/three trainees
About 5 wpc
And now the two wcm "managers" who conduct "safety" investigations.
Still impossible to get any kind of a straight answer on anything from Any of them.
Love the blank looks veering towards panic when a decision must be made.

Well it's like this spider, they have a hat in the DOMs office which is filled with the reaction of the day slips, each manager goes into the office first thing sticks his hand in the hat and pulls out his role for the day. They range from, "pretend to be dumb, look intelligent and wear glasses if possible, do not drink more than ten cups of coffee in the first hour, practice the managerial shrug in front of the mirror, do not answer a question directly, NEVER make a decision for which you can be held accountable, NEVER take the blame but blame staff inefficiencies every time". You don't need training you just need to practice the instructions.spiderj wrote:1 Dom

It all sounds very professional in comparison with our small unit.spiderj wrote:1 Dom

For us - First line manager arrives - and opens Racing Post to study form.
- Second line manager arrives and wanders around with clipboard in hand looking gormless.
- DOM arrives a good hour after start time, thrusts hands in pockets and announces traffic is down. It's always down, funny that.

Re: Management Resructure
Still quite new to Royal Mail so can't really comment on what managers do or don't do.
In my last company after they had a management restructure, what we ended up with was 50% less managers. Which for us meant a dramatic increase in responsibilities for each and every person for no extra pay. I won't even go into how they abused "flexible working" , "banked hours" and "constructive dismissal". I couldn't wait to get out of there.
Not trying to stick up for the management, but in the current climate I would be suspicious of any "management restructure".

Re: Management Resructure
TBH I would imagine it will only interest managers of a certain age with a lengthy service. There would not be any outside organisation that would pay that sort of salary for such limited managerial skills.human1 wrote:Friday was the last day for managers to apply for EVR lets see how many has gone for it ? if not enough than what ?
