I had a brief chat with Tony Benn on monday, I came away thinking, I had just spoken to, and shaken the hand of a man, who if he ever wins back
a seat in parliament, will be a giant amongst midgets.

Tempting idea, but Benn strikes as precisely the sort of man that would offer advice, but never force or impose influence - in other words "Sorry son, I think you're barking up the wrong tree - still it's your career, and you're on your todd!"
