Polling cards, who pays for our supplements?

Could anyone put up a link to the form for claiming payment for delivering poll cards and election leaflets ?
( Or are different claim forms produced locally all over the country ? )

because it seems a lottery as to which areas gets what.
we had some polling cards for a local election roughly 9 months ago, our post code got paid extra, another area in the office got nothing?
union rep was called then but they didn't get anywhere with it, he said it was classed as general mail, but ours wasn't.
hence why i asked if the payments came from each different council funding,
nothing makes any sense, but should i be surprised?

usually we just times the delivery points by 2.5 to get an estimate, but told to count them this time
as i said, it's a lottery, some come out laughing, some don't
i'll end up with about £80 extra, which is good, but if i could have got £100 then i'd want it!
better in my pocket, i don't want to give them a penny

Just to open another can of worms....How are you working out payments for your Reserves? A simple approach would be for the Reserve to count how many he delivers, BUT is that Thrown Off or Delivered? And it is a pain in the ass and takes a bit of time!

In my Experience the Reserves will be lucky to get a look in! It seems most of the Duty Holders are normally pretty keen to get ALL the money....a unique experience in Royal Mail....Posties actually wanting to the extra work.

Working on the principle that they're likely to cock up the payments I've decided not to do any of them and just let the Duty Holder get on with them. No complaints so far!

We got paid 3.5p for years until I used information on this site to help the rep and push for 6.6p. it took a fight but we got it.

The national agreement states that you have 3 WORKING days to deliver addressed poll cards and 7 for leaflets.

You need to clue up your rep.

we said its 3 days but they said only if stamped RM 2nd and because ours we're another supplier they must be treated as 1st class and delivered in 1 day.

Once mail reaches a DO apart from d2ds it's ALL 1st Class. The difference between 1st and 2nd class is that 1st class is dispatched from the outward MC the same day it's posted. 2nd class is dispatched the day after it was posted.

I wouldn't be surprised if by the next major election, local or national (next major one is probably the general election) if every poll card was trackable, so RM would probably then have a count of how many poll cards for each walk.

I'm surprised that RM pay extra when the poll cards go through as normal addressed mail

Not quite correct not all mail is first class when it hits the DO, Mailsort 3 is not First class when it hits the DOs, also packets/parcel are not covered in the uso on saturdays so on a saturday packets and parcels are not 1st class either

WRONG! MS3 arrives in inward MCs the day before it's due for delivery so will be due for delivery the next day. Streaming of the mail is not allowed.

again incorrect, the agreement that brought in the SDD, allowed for the holding back of mailsort 3 and the cancelling of the late misort run on a saturday to enable an early finish, that agreement is still in effect as long as the local office has not agreed away their shorter saturday as part of their revision process

e) Saturday attendances will be significantly shorter than weekday attendances. To assist this Mailsort 3 need not be scheduled for delivery and missort runs should be rescheduled to enable an earlier start on town residential delivery routes.

The extra payments do not cost royal mail, the cost of the supplement is met by the electrol commision

If the cost is met by the electoral commission then why are different offices all getting different payments? And how would we go about challenging this?

WRONG!!!!! WRONG!!!!! WRONG!!!!! WRONG!!!!! WRONG!!!!!

If you're not delivering the MS3 on a Saturday then you're just giving a DOM a nice easy reason to do you for wilful delay if they want to cut hours. Don't let the door hit your arse on the way out when they do. Apart from d2d everything that arrives at an inward MC is due for delivery the very next delivery day. It's no wonder that most mailsort has gone over to DSA when it doesn't get delivered on a Saturday overwise.

How about RM employ weekend staff to do say Fri-Mon deliveries (like it or not, Sunday delivery will happen whether we like it or not - probably within 2 years absolute tops). Then RM could cut your hours or make you do collections everyday or they could axe your job.

Telling someone to get their head out of their arse when they are only passing on what is Royal Mail policy, and goes on in a Delivery Office on a daily basis, over which he has no control - is not exactly conducive to a debate.

Also if people want their parcels on a Saturday why is it that saturday is traditionally for me the day I have to return most parcels back to the office.
