Industrial action: an update from Royal MailWednesday 10th October - early update
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After lengthy negotiation we are very disappointed that the Communication Workers Union (CWU) has announced more strike action starting on Monday 15th and ending on Friday 19th October. This action will take place at different Royal Mail sites across the country at different times. We are currently assessing the impact that this will have on services, and will communicate this as soon as possible.

We can confirm that the latest round of strike action by members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) ended in the early hours of Wednesday 10th October. Royal Mail regrets the impact of the strike action and apologises to its customers for the disruption this has caused.

Whilst we are encouraged that increased numbers of operational staff are attending work and that managerial and support staff continue to keep mail flowing, the situation remains very serious and our ability to provide services remains extremely limited. We are very sorry that we have had to withdraw a number of service promises and guarantees, but we will reinstate these as soon as we are able to honour them.

Special Delivery items are being delivered and some mail is flowing through the network, but we have a significant build-up of mail that will take time to clear when the strikes have finished.
The strikes will finish when RM realise how dictatorial they have been.

The strike will finish when they realise we will not just fall down at there feet. Over the next few weeks we are undoubtably going to have heaps of brown sticky stuff thrown at us, I have already been told by my wife a 5pm starter that us that start at 21.30 (soon to be 22.30 by exec action ) have a list at work detailing our break times and various other changes to standard working practices. We both work in a mail centre so it could be fun. As True Blue Terrior will tell you us old mob boys (14 years Army ) are used to being F!!!!!!! about so bring it on managment !!!!!at least during this fight its only threats and changes they are throwing :nana as long as we stand united and dont resort to infighting and are understanding amongst ourselves we make a hell of a force to take on. it wont be easy it wont be nice but !! IT WILL BE WORTH IT.

They will pick on individuals and seperate offices so we must keep lines of communication open and this one is by far the best
Keep it up Postman and the rest of the Mods
