It,s not 4 days money this wk it,s 2 this week and 2 the next as they are 2 seperate pay weeks.
You
'll be in for a shock if you think that - good luck with paying your bills!
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR IMFORMATION FROM.THERES NO WAY THAT HUMAN RESOURCES WOULD KNOW WHO IS GOING TO TAKE PART IN A STRIKE UNTIL THAT WEEK THEN IT WOULD BE TO LATE TO IN PUT THAT INFORMATION INTO WAGES THATS WHY IF THEY MAKE A MISTAKE ON YOUR NORMAL WORKING WEEK WAGES YOU DO NOT GET IT FOR 2 WEEKS.

Our DOM told us this morning that strikers will get 4 days docked this week (allowing for days off, holidays, etc).

He could be lying but I'll be willing to bet it's true.

pay stoppage

Post by jonny »

there seems to be different areas/offices that are deducting pay differently. we've been told at Milton Keynes that we will lose 3days pay then 1next week. they aren't briefing it we've just heard through the grapevine. its all been orchestrated by the faceless spineless people at royal mail HQ. when are they gonna realise that these pathetic attempts at breaking us is just not gonna work. yes its gonna cause a lot of problems but our resilience is becoming stronger. their mask has really slipped further.

Dear ********

Thank you for your email, which Adam has asked me to respond to on his behalf. I'm sorry to hear that this is how you feel but I would like to explain the real facts about what is currently being offered and what we are asking in return.

Flexibility is about managers, postmen and women and local reps working together sensibly, to make sure the job gets done in the best and most efficient way - with a bit of give and take on each side. It is NOT about people not knowing where they are working, what they are doing or what they will be from one week to the next. We will always take account of individual circumstances - but flexibility will apply equally to everyone,e.g. People will be asked to cover each other's leave and absence, where they can and within their scheduled hours (otherwise overtime will of course be paid). Scheduled hours may be different on different days of the week. Scheduled hours may vary at different times of the year , eg. to reflect lighter workload in the summer. People may be asked to vary their times by up to 30 mins - go early one day and make up the time later in the week.

In the 1990s, investment performance was strong and there was a surplus inpart of the Plan - Sections A & B (or POSSS as it was called back then).Tax laws at the time imposed penalties on pension plans that were overfunded. To avoid reaching this point the company, following professional advice and with the agreement of the Trustee, temporarily stopped payingcontributions to reduce the surplus (this is often called a contributions holiday). During the holiday, the financial position of the Plan was regularly monitored. However, at that time, no one could have predicted the significant fall in investment markets in the years prior to 2003 or the sudden rise in the number of people living longer. As soon as the Trustee's actuarial valuation showed that the Plan was not in surplus, company contributions restarted in full. The company has always contributed toSection C (formerly POPS).

We are offering a two year pay offer which includes 5.4% on basic pay from October 2007 taking full time national basic pay from £324.92 per week to £342.46. Then 1.5% on basic pay in April 2008 (on condition we getagreement on pension reform, change and flexibility) taking full time national basic pay to £347.60. This is a total of 6.9% over two years. Plus a lump sum of £175 in October - pro rata for part-timers - funded from the employee share of savings which then closes. A 50:50 productivity schemefor local savings over and above budget. ColleagueShare dividends of £800 this year (£400 for deploying your local flexibility plan and £400 for hitting group profit targets).

Why don't you forward a copy of this e-mail to him, asking him why he is intentionally misleading the public by ludicrously claiming we are earning £440 ?

His claims would make it appear that we are paid almost 25% more than we actually are.
